But seriously Vivec is a god, one of three tribunal who have divine power.Achieving Divinity and Azura's Curse:
"With Nerevar gone, the Tribunal came to power among the Chimer. Several years later, Sotha Sil approached Vivec and Almalexia with startling news: he had learned how to safely use the Tools to take divine power from the Heart, and he wished the three of them to do so. At first, Vivec had misgivings, but a stirring, idealistic speech from Sotha convinced both him and Almalexia that together they could be the gods Resdayn deserved.Convinced, the three defied Nerevar's dying wish and used the Tools of Kagrenac on the Heart, drawing its power for themselves
He saved the Dunmer people from certain death on numerous occasions, such as when he flooded a small part of Morrowind and killed the Akaviri invaders around 2E 572 (in fact, the Tribunal repelled at least two Akaviri invasions from Morrowind)."
etc.

You can march the three alliance armies, AD, EP and DC to attempt to kill him, thousands of players and they will die in a split of a second

happens to everyone...ganked by a nightblade. Vivec better stay out of Cyrodiil...if the gankers dont get him, the endless zergs will, Snare, Root, Stun, Negate and ult spam...dead faster than you can blink, doesnt even matter how many he kills, they will just respawn at a camp and keep coming back and calling more until critical mass is reached.

Gods aren't that powerful in this game. Super strong mortals like Dvayth Fyr and Vanus Galerion are pretty close to them in terms of power.

"Mortal" gods aren't that powerful compared to other powerful mortals. Daedric princes though are nigh invincible in their own realms. And I'm not sure Vanus and Divayth are on the same level.

It's not so much about the power he obtained from the Heart of Lorhkan but because he has CHIM. He could erase everyone with just a thought if he ever became so inclined to do so but he doesn't have the heart to do it. That said, I wouldn't put it past him to just send someone to some lost corner of Nirn should they attempt to attack him.

He's a Mary Sue?

Not a Mary Sue. He learned how to use his power...probably. He didn't just stumble upon CHIM one day and miraculously could wield that power.
Legitimate?
I like Vivec and all that but I am pretty sure that he, Almalexia and Sotha Sil conspired to kill Nerevar because Nerevar thought it was a bad idea to mess with the Heart of Lorkhan. On this I agree with the Ashlanders.
If Sotha Sil hadn't figured out how to tap into the Heart's power with Kagrenac's tools, there would be no Tribunal.
Bottom line, they stole their divinity. Nothing legitimate about it.
