I find it amazing that a critical site that runs the German routing services does not have redundant power supply, multiple routes and uplinks, UPS and generators on site and can be exposed to power failures. (Or if the do have them, then obviously something went terribly wrong)

The infrastructure of the company I work for stayed stable during the 2012 Sandy hurricane in New York even though one of our server rooms got flooded and went under water for a while. And we're not even providing a central backbone for a regional internet routing or similar...

Whatever happened in Frankfurt was probably preventable. I understand it's not ZOS fault this time.. But maybe they should look after an alternate backup site or something.

Amen. I work in a company that is much smaller than ZOS and our third party suppliers are prepared for much more severe things than a power failure. This affecting business for two days should be a reason to move on.

If a big majority of the paying customers actually would be upset and leave, they would. Cold fact is that majority of the people whining here will not go through with their threats and log on as nothing ever happened when the services are up again.

ZOS do not have to care about 0.000001% customers complaining when all the rest are satisfied with their work. No company would care about people complaining over things that are out of their control.

It's more likely i will start playing a game from my steam backlog and realise i have other games i can play. That's the biggest risk.....cold turkey.

Yeah because a company being impacted partially by a 3rd party provider's outage does not mean that the company's services itself are not accessible to their users. They just serve German users from alternate sites. It's called redundancy...

Again - I don't want to continue this but it seems like I have to. I've proven an irrelevant point, that is correct. Secondly, I did not start this discussion, you are the first person to bring this up in the forums and then continue in this thread since you were this desperate. I do not understand which part of my previous comment you do not understand. Thinking outside the box would only lead to the minorities of why people would attack ZOS for, which are still issues of course and need to be addressed. And really, who would be concerned about this issue other than ZOS losing their money?

Now Tv, Netflix, Spotify, Discord , Amazon Prime, Facebook, instagram, Youtube, WhatsApp, Google, 02 are all working fine for me. Only ESO isn't working.
