No, there are far better options. Combat physician is trash.
It is definitely trash. It procs on ONE person, then you wait for the cooldown, and only then can it proc on ONE perso . And you’re not even sure it’s someone that needs it. They could have taken a small amount of damage, yet they get the damage shield. Oh, and the damage shield is affected by Battle Spirit, so cut that shield value in half. There are 1000 better options than this garbage set. Not battlegrounds, not dungeons, not trials, no PvP, and not VDSA. It’s a joke.
Ignorant garbage from one who doesn't use the set...
Just stop man, the set is so far below par compared to alternative sets its not even worth consideration.
The internal cd of the proc operates on a single target per proc basis which is not controllable in who gets the meager 5k (pvp) sheild that lasts for much less than 6 seconds since a target who would benefit from the sheild is likely taking hits already. 3 second internal CD that could potentially effect multiple targets and having a second max mag bonus (double crit bonus for a support set like really?) then maybe it would see some play possibly.
Ive seen the various masturbatory theory craft threads trying to formate some scenario where the set excels and they are all filled with hypotheticals and anecdotes. The set sucks, plain and simple.
You just stop hatin...
I actually use the gear and know what it can do; I'm not forced to speculate about it like you and others in this thread have done...
The gear rocks and I can list many reasons why...
So just stop hatin and accept the goodness that the Combat Physician gear set brings to the table...
Besides some of what you posted about how the set works is 100% wrong; just stop before I expose your ignorance...

I never said I hadn’t used It. QUITE the contrary. Remember when Slimecraw was the DPS dummy before we had dummy’s? Between a friend and I testing each other, I got an entire full set of it. On my healer no less, and with such a cool name how could it NOT be good?!
Test: Wore it in a small 5 man imperial city group. Didn’t know at that time any sort of meta, but had CB Physician (jewels/2body), 5 piece Seducer, 2 piece engine Guardian, and a purple resto. Started sewer run (enemies then were pretty tough, and the sewers were FILLED with people). Long story short, I wore the set throughout our 2 hour run. I asked as we went if anyone noticed the damage shield. Some said yes, but that when they received it, they didn’t need it. So perhaps that was my fault in healing them then. Oh well! But when a DIFFICULT enemy came up, say one of the Xivkyn’s at the Dolmens in the center, that damage shield was obliterated faster than ANYONE on the team could even see it. It not only provided such a miniscule shield, but It regularly would not proc on the person taking the MOST damage (like a healing ward for example).
So the set worked in two different ways:
1. Procs a shield, but the fight is fairly miniscule damage, so the shield just ends up evaporating.
2. Procs shield on wrong person (and doesn’t target teammate with lowest health), and that proc when you’re actually fighting a hard enemy is COMPLETELY unnoticeable. The only purpose of this set is to provide mitigation when someone’s truly needs it. It doesn’t. Instead of picking a set that buffs the team (IA/SPC/Worm/Sanctuary), you pick the one one that is completely RNG based, and likely provide a person a mediocre damage shield with a 6 second ICD. Can you name ANY support set that is good that’s based on RNG? And no, before you say it, SPC isn’t RNG.
Here’s an old post from 2017 of @TheDoomsdayMonster still “beating his drum,” defending this garbage set,
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/347991/how-does-combat-physician-set-work
He trolls any thread that Combat Physician is brought up.
There isn’t really any other way to say it. You straight up dont know how to play this game.

I'm actually very curious now about why you think the set is so powerful. Myself I tend to agree with @exeeter702 that set seems rather useless in a group compared to other alternatives. At this moment i just don't see how Combat physician could benefit a group of about 12 people (that is the group size I mostly play in).
Are you playing in smaller groups? Are you using cp/other sets to make the set stronger?
Can somebody help me with gear setup for Sorcerer healer? It's for Cyrodiil PvP, I don't play BGs.
As I gathered in this thread:
1) OHaS + Restoration Stuff?
2) Troll King is all right as Monster set, right (Earthgore is out of reach)?
3) Kagrenac‘s Hope as base set?
4) Wizard‘s Riposte or Robes of Transmutation as secondary set is all right?
How can you get up to 28k resistance? Even with Major Ward and Resolve I can barely get 22k in ESO Build Editor.
And what about skills? All I found is for Templar or Warden.

I don't use Matriarch for RP reasonsexeeter702 wrote: »Can somebody help me with gear setup for Sorcerer healer? It's for Cyrodiil PvP, I don't play BGs.

Because most think templar or warden are the only capable pvp healers. This is not true. That being said, sorc healer in pvp has a harder time since matriarch has to be thoroughly protected (hardend ward helps out alot).
Id suggest trans (for allies, not yourself) and riposte with vma resto (for summer set) earthgore (even post "nerf").
Mutagen, matriarch heal, ward ally, possibly the new mend wounds skill and meditate. Barrier, adsorption feild and resto ults are all good slots. And you want 75 into bastion (strong ward ally shields will give 6sec earthgore its mileage) and blessed.
A strong starting point imho for you to aim for.
Getting 25k health is not a problem. The problem is how to get 28k resist without Fortified Brass like other poster posted? Can somebody help me with gear setup for Sorcerer healer? It's for Cyrodiil PvP, I don't play BGs.

Put points in health untill you break 25k then magic and maybe a few in stamina
I also run 2 cost reduction and one replenish glyph my gear switches about depending on my mood but it's always one debuffs, one group heal set plus a monster set to compliment ... Sometimes it's a heal others it's a damage resist set
I have Efficient Purge morph since I use it in PvE and it's cheaper to cast it plus Mutagen than to use Cleanse. But I fully understand your build as you use Robes of Alteration Mastery. Can somebody help me with gear setup for Sorcerer healer? It's for Cyrodiil PvP, I don't play BGs.

Sorc PVP healers excel in the Purge Monkey role. High mag regen and stacked mag for shields compliments the spamming of this expensive support ability. I was so pleased with my sorcs off-heal/Purge Monkeying that I even took the more expensive Cleanse morph. Dark Conversion ftw. Gear wise I rock Meritorious Service and Alteration Mastery.
