Oh, I remember a time when it didn't work. It had its moments, for sure. I also remember having nearly an entire free month for all the problems they were having. It was bad.

EU is just a bit 1989, like the Frankfurt servers, get over it.

Dunno why they choose Frankfurt, instead of Munich DE or even Netherlands is much better...Well someone from EU and those ISP's will pay big price for this...

    NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Next time you decide to have an event that increases player numbers, BE SURE that your infrastructure can handle it.

We don't even know it's an infrastructure or load issue, could be many things, so please try not assume things.

Here's another assumption: If the people can't login, because there are TOO MANY people trying to login, then we can be sure of either of these statements being true:
    • The existing 'infrastructure' wasn't designed to cope with the current volume of players; or
    • if it was, then part of it is not working as expected now.
    could be many things
It could be. Sadly, the result is the same. People have paid for service that is not available for them to use.

I just realized that my login problems have been the most severe the last two hours - which are in the range of peak hours of Europe.

If my theory is correct that it is a router on the way to the ESO server, it should be less problems after 00-01 tonight ^^

This is an common problem, People can not log in so they press log in over and over, because of event people keep doing it but they would give up on an normal day.
We had the same problem during the dungeon event the first day.

In dungeons an higher dps solves problems, all on easy content, on harder it just require that healer and tank is not on ZOS server level of fake.

For servers the same is true, you can handle bad code if machine is good enough.

It's weird. I always found strange to get, according to the in-game latency meter, around 70-140ms on a server that is in Amsterdam. With any other MMO with European servers (normally located also in the Netherlands or in France or Germany) I usually get around 20-40ms. More than 100ms is what I get on US servers with many other games. It's like ESO EU server is not really in Europe.

It reminds me of my former flatmate when he told me our fridge broke down. Then I asked: Is it connected to electricity...

    ...it wasn't.

Has to be the route? I get around 40-ish although the past 3 days or so, that's gone up to 80-ish.
