All servers have problems at times. Most technology can have issues and is not infallible. It is unrealistic to expect a server to never have a problem, never fail, never go down, just as it is unrealistic to expect the same from your own system.

Agreed. Smart people have redundancies in place though to ensure this is kept minimal or not at all. Downtime over the last week is hardly minimal.
