Plus then your group rezzes up at a different keep and you're left there going "I'm not dead yet!"

If you can survive and then rezz others, yeah.

If you can tie up a ton of enemies hunting/chasing you, yeah.

there are also times when the rest of your group should have ran too - and strung the enemy out, later turning on them a few at a time - turning a lose into a win..

(btw, I treat my whole alliance as my group - a really unruly group who never stay on the crown, but they're all MY ***!)

Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

[when solo] It depends on the state of the campaign. Like if it's 60 DC rolling down from Ash to BB, I'll show up in case there's a legitimate defense, but I'll probably lose patience with being run over for nothing after Roe.

I go down fighting most of the time though.

In a group, a point usually comes when remaining players should try to escape to deploy an FC.

Because "they don't like the idea of dying" :D and think they can provide recon until the group recovers or comes back to the fight.

I play in an organized raid, so that the sort of behavior that just makes me think "why are you playing with a group if you don't want to stick with the group?"

Its one thing to have a designated person to sneak away and lay down a rez camp, but otherwise I prefer to fight and die with my group. If I didn't want to do that, I'd solo zerg surf.

Aside from specifically going to try and get a forward camp, I can't think of a good reason to abandon (that's the word you're using) your groupmates. I don't like to die either, but ideally we do the best we can and stick it out together.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

it's not that hard to do a quick scan - count heads, watch the flow of the fight...

for those poor mag toons that are always huffing amd puffing - pop a stam pot, shimmy to the left, shimmy to the right, back away "gracefully"...find a nice rock or hill to watch the action...

then, decide if it's better to blood port somewhere else - or, fall back a bit, try to rez folks, and, wait for more forces...

my magblade almost never has to die...it sometimes feels like a curse...lotta lonely mount rides on that character...

You should never abandon your group, always follow your leader to your deaths. If you all commit to a bad call without hesitating there is a better chance of surviving than ignoring the bad call altogether.

On the other hand if you are solo zerg surfing, if AD are going to lose the fight then you should definitely abandon them and fall back to the next line of defence.

I think a fair number of battles are lost because people choose to run the other way instead of die. Idk why people take dying so seriously in this game. I mean be strategic about it but don’t let your faction mates lead the charge alone.

If you're a nb who can get away and either get a camp up or pick people up, fair enough.

Otherwise there's no point. They just zerg you down when they're done with your group.

I have seen victory snatched from the jaws of defeat. You never know if another group of your alliance will be coming through the breech... Or even on occasion, another faction. I have in the past been at Chal when the AD showed up to distact the EP long enough for DC to take the flags and close the inner.

I will, but only if the group can feasibly rez and win the future battle at the same location. If we're on camp cooldown, or another, higher-priority target for offense/defense has arisen, II stand with the group. As a nightblade, it is partially my job to ensure that we can rez if possible, and with cloak I am one of the better candidates to do so.

    Forward camps are clutch.

I'll only bail if we are fully losing, though. one or two deaths in a 6 man? I'm sticking around. Just me and one friend left, with more enemies visibly approaching? "Peel for me, getting clean."

I really only do BG's for a while now. but usually i die with the team and try to take out as many as as can if i see it going south. of course if i see the team not dying but getting overwhelmed i try to start the move to better ground. but specifically last night I was on a team with 3 people we were all medium armor so we had no tank or healers and one was under 160 cp so he didnt really know what was going on, he had zero buffs he was activating before the fights and one immediately sprinted to a far corner and went stealth away from the group and the last one i literally thought was afk because every time i died they were sitting not moving at spawn (until i looked at score and they were o kills and 6 deaths)

the other teams i were not premades because i had been playing with them throughout the night but they were decent players and they stayed in a group and had at lead one healer a team and were heavy armor dks and wardens. i tried to stay with the new guy but he would just run into all 8 of them brawling and insta die, i don't think i had ever purposely left someone to die, but there just was ZERO thinking going on in this group and i would watch them go solo into the swarm and I would pick off the stragglers.

To go get resources. Hide, set up forward camp, or rezz dead pals. Sometimes one dead guy can hold up five enemies without even fighting them. You can also counter-flip a keep by rezzing a few good players inside and being smart.

Sometimes its better to stand and die for the bloodport. I usually don't group with large numbers, mostly duo or solo. I'm not leaving my wingman lol. So, my answer relates more to "Look out! Zerg!" and streaking to safety etc.

I have more fun surviving, hearing that everyone else bloodported somewhere, and going surprise kamikaze on the enemy instead of peeling my ghost off the zerg steamroller.
