Summerset Builds And 2H Weapons: Let's talk shop, guys.

Theorycrafting, ***, just all around chatting about the new expansion coming up and all the good stuff coming with it. 2H Weapons are finally going to count as 2 set pieces for it's users, and that goes for Staves, Bows, and Melee Weapons, so needless to say, the Meta is going to shift quite a bit.

I'm actually not here to talk about that though, or at least not entirely.

You see, I'm merely curious to find out what you guys that use 2H weapons plan to do with your newfound freedom in set building, and I ask that you all, if you feel so inclined, sit down here and discuss with the rest of us any possible plans you might have in building for a future set. I'll go first, of course lol

My plan is to grab the rings (that part is already complete) and necklace of the Sheer Venom set and wear two pieces of armor with it to obtain that 5pc, then pop in a Hunding's Rage 2H and 3 pieces of that armor to get that 5pc Bonus, then top it off with a monster set that I'm not entirely decided on which exact pieces I'll use, but it'll be a monster set, if not some decent crafted set of some sort, I'll get back to you on that.

Now, what do you guys have in mind?

Probably give a try to Shock + Frost staff from Frost staff + S&b on my pvp magplar.

Will have the same blocking possibility on back bar & win 8% damages on Sweeps, Blockade & Reflective Light inital hit, looks interesting. Just swap blockade & repentance. The main downside I see, I can't run 2 proc on my back bar (Lich & riposte for example) to get 4/4 on my main bar & loosing the blocking mobility from s&b can be annoying. So, we will see

Great news for me, esp. since I can use bow-destro, bow-resto, 2h-resto, etc. in PvP without restrictions. Definitely going to be a buff for all of my experimental hybrids that I roam CP and no CP Cyrodil with. After all, that restrictions definitely hit anyone using a hybrid more than any other build since most "backbar" 5-piece sets weren't actually that useful, and you would be a fool to not 5-piece those crafted sets 24/7. I'm glad I'm not being pushed to SnB and DW anymore on them. Those builds were already OP in PvP, but now ZOS gonna give me a way to get more power? Can't wait...

Right? For PvE it's like DW or bust, and I'm like bruh, I kinda hate DW, I much prefer 2H and Bow for a ranger or Samurai like feel. Now, it'll actually be viable, can't wait.

seems like most of my toons use "arena" weapons (master, maelstrom, asylum) so it might not be a big difference, unless the change shifts the meta so much that those weapons arent best anymore.

I've been playing 2h stamsorc for quite awhile, its prolly my most fun and powerful vet dungeon toon. Master 2 hander is absolutely insane in dungeons. Way too good to give up for a regular weapon.

I don't think the 5-5-2 setup is the end all be all setup though, maelstrom or asylum weapons will still have their niche carved out.

I like to think that the biggest change would be for tanking off bar weapon since now, you aren't as restricted as before. A magicka based tank now can have full access to the 5-5-2 setup, regardless how frost staff tanking can perform optimally.

Till pts hits, I'm cautiously optimistic for this change. Can't wait to see how a bow two hander warden build works out.

I want to transform my dual wield stam sorc into a 2 hand and bow build. Using 5 piece Heemjas Retribution and 5 piece sword singer. Maybe run Slimecraw to get added damage. In pvp the major berserk from heemjas should be up a lot.

I can finally run a full shackle / riposte / skoria on my magblade. But hell woth jewelry crafting coming out I might be trying some craft set combos for pvp. Heavy armor shackle alchemist trollking on my argonian magblade with tripots and the new darkcloak morph is something I want to try

I will let my Master's resto in my bank to try something else. Probably Monster set, still don't know which one for the moment. I already tried Rkugamz, but maybe I will give it a new try.

I've also been thinking about running a Dual Destro Mag sorc in PVP using mostly destro abilities. Running Destruction Mastery and Spider Cultist to get a huge magicka pool and increase the damage of my destro abilities.

Sometimes I like the sorc because the combos are pretty clear cut. But I really want to try a new play style with it and these two sets seem like perfect matches for each-other. Not sure what monster set I would run with it. Maybe Grothdarr to keep melee enemies off of me.

1. All my stam are in the process of converting to 2H/Bow (from DW/Bow). Except my Bow/Bow Stamden, who just "works" as is.

2. As it will be a long time before I put in the hours to grind up five Maelstrom Bows (or five Maelstrom Lightning Staves for that matter), everybody is getting either 5x5x2 or - in a couple of cases - 5x5x1x1 (mismatched monster set elements).

3. Default gearing for each character will be 5xJulianos or Hunding's, 5xMechanical Acuity and then a monster set (or a "monster mismatch"). This will, of course, require jewelry crafting - but it will take my master crafter far less time to gather the mats (or the gold to pay for such) and just make the gear than for me to run Trial XYZ or dungeon ABC or dolmens LMN >9000 times to get just the right drops.

After the default gearing is in place...then each individual character will start grinding specific content (at my leisure and pleasure) to maybe swap one of the 5-piece sets (or get a new monster set in).

And by the time all of this is done a new expansion will come along and I'll have something else to do.

I've been a 2H/Bow Stamplar since before Champion Points came out.

I cannot tell you how excited I am lol

But I am happy to see that Casters are also getting a bit of a boon to this, and as someone pointed out, this is indeed great for build diversity.

Still no clue what currents Ima pick, but boy oh boy I can't wait to see what new stuff we're getting.

The current Magicka Templar builds of DW Wizards and Overwhelming/Skoria now get to switch to Two Hander (for FM) or a Destro Staff (for Resistance Debuff and Magicka Stealth and Passives) If they want.

That'll be a pretty big upgrade.
