What are the Classes "Token" Skills? (PvP)

IE: Nightblade has Cloak. This skill alone completely changes the playstyle in terms of PvP approach, and requires some method of counterplay from any enemy setup.

I don't have much experience with other classes, so what would you say yours is?

I would say Hurricane for Stamsorcs: The added Mobility and AoE damage is what differentiates them from other Stam classes and makes them more appealling for group play.

Templar: Breath of Life, Radiant Destruction, Ritual of Retribution

    Warden: Shalks, Fungal Growth, Permafrost

Sorcerers: Negate, Bolt Escape, Mage's Wrath

    Nightblades: Incapacitating Strike, Cloak, Fear

Dragonknights: Wings (given to everyone with SnB), Chains (given to everyone with Silver Shards), Leap

...but hey, at least everyone has an execute, right?

Actual abilities, based off uniqueness and the archetype it represents. Only one. Ults too easy.

Templar: Purge. The removal/healing away the damage idea templars were based on.

DK: Wings: The mitigation and reducing attacks and damage of them. As if it never happened.

Nightblade: Cloak. The sneak and avoid them entirely, pop in to say hello.

Sorc: Streak. Outrun and outgun theme. Like NB, but they know where you are, they just can't catch you.

Warden: Netch maybe. Pet and recovery. But shimmering as wings 2.0.

Sadly 3/5 of them have been gutted. Cloak probably next because they finally fixed it.

In terms of totally unique skills that heavily “make or break” class playstyles in PvP? It’d go something like:

    DK: Power Lash
    NB: Cloak, Shadow Image, Incap
    Sorc: Streak, Mages’ Fury
    Templar: Cleanse
    Warden: Shimmering Shield

    Warden (Stam, PVP) - Shalks

You are a Warden build if you slot shalks. If you don't slot shalks, very likely you are just using Warden solely for the class heal passives and slotting full a suite of none Warden skills. Warden is the only class where in PVP, it is not uncommon at all to see toons running around without a single active Warden class skill slotted. Zero.

    StamSorc "Token" skills (PvP) :

    Hurricane :
    - Takes care of the requirement for the Major Resolve and Major Ward
    - Brings respectable AoE damage over time, with the ability to reveal cloaked opponents
    - Brings Minor Expedition as a nice bonus.
    - This is the visual "Token" that allows to instantly identify a StamSorc

    Dark Deal :
    - Doubles as magicka to stamina conversion and makeshift burst heal
    - Useful for heavy armor builds, possibly without vigor

    Critical Surge :
    - Takes care of the requirement for Major Brutality
    - Brings of a powerful heal over time, that however needs to be proc'ed with critical hits (Bleed, poisons or other DoTs)

Ball of Lightning / Streak :
    - Doubles as an escape and a makeshift gap-gloser
    - Can absorb incoming spell projectile / Can be used as a weak CC

    Implosion (passive) :
    - RNG based execute that has impressive results when it procs, and crits, on a target that had 14% HP left.
    - 6% of the time, it works everytime

    Overload :
    - Allows to slot some utility skills on a third bar at the cost of one ult slot

    Bound Armaments :
    - Brings a nice bunch of stats at the cost of one slot on each bar.

noxious breath. I'm not exactly sure what this ability is good for but It causes me to spend the next 30 seconds trying to connect this ability so it definitely has a big effect on my gameplay.

Are we talking pve or PvP? Cause they are different and what about roles? A token class healer skill is different then a tank.

Because I would say from my perspective, grim focus and its morphs are way more impactful to the way I play both may magblade and stamblade then cloak, as my nightblades are pve dps.

Edit: your title says PvP. Please go here if your topic is just about PvP, https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/categories/PvP-combat-skills

    But on the topic

    Temp, breath of Life

    Dk wings

    Sorc hardened ward

    Warden subass

templars have breath of life, cleanse and jabs, also a nice executer ability wit radiant destruction.
for nightblades surprise attack cloak and grim focus comes to my mind.
sorcerer mostly skills like streak, mines and hardened ward. for the stamsorcerer we include hurricane.
puh for dks....engulfing flames or noxious breath pretty much are unique, other skills are talons or wings.
warden: birds, shalks and all that vegetable stuff ^^

Dragonknights: Wings (given to everyone with SnB), Chains (given to everyone with Silver Shards), Leap

    Bull.

Defensive posture absorbs ONE spell, wings reflects up to 4. Defensive posture, at best, does 100% of the reflected projectile's damage, while wings can do 20% more. Wings are also getting a snare removal with summerset.

I swear the angst on these forums is real.

Yet I prefer defensive posture over wings because unlike some people around, I actually read and test skills before deciding if they are good or bad. I see most stamDks actually going for the same thing when they want ranged defence. The reflect morph of this ability is flat out bad, but the absorb one is just super good.

Absorb magic morph gives me a strong heal for each skill I absorb, is very cheap at barely 2k cost, lasts for a very long time so I don't have to worry about it expiring every 6 seconds, it reduces my block cost by %8 and gives me %8 more block damage reduction(which also synergizes extremely well with spell wall and is just very good with DKs in general) and most importantly absorb works on almost any magic projectile meanwhile wings can be ignored by so many because it is reflect.

If absorb magic could absorb more than one projectile it would instantly outperform wings on literally any scenario possible.
And most of the time it already does outperform wings since it has benefits against melee opponents aswell, and the synergy it has with spell wall is very strong, works on any build and has no cost issues like wings does.

    Wrong skill @Lynx7386

Shield Wall: Reinforce your shield, allowing you to automatically block all attacks and reflect all projectiles cast at you at no cost for [6] seconds. You also reflect all projectiles cast at you.

Here's where you can research skills: http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/One-Handed+and+Shield+Skills

This skill didn't even exist in game until weapon ultimates came out. This is clearly a rip-off of a DK's Wings. Perhaps a little more research before you call "bull" next time, bud.

    Edited to show a reference.

Okay- before this goes any further to derail what the OP asked: I stated that it was an ability that was straight up taken from DKs and given access to everyone. Period. Carry on about your day and let the OP continue their discussion.

original Flames of Oblivion was a DK signature skill (toggled aoe damage over time aura). problem was that it was crap (weak damage, weak radius and stopped magicka regeneration). it was changed in 1.6. ironically what DKs wanted FoO to be Sorcs got as their improved hurricane.

Stop the grind! Get rid of stupid events and daily-quest gallore. Get rid of "have a chance of 1 in a million to get a piece of 1 in 30 to get a stupid motif or pet... wtf..."
And at this point just remove all classes and have everyone choose their set of skills. then balance accordingly to skills always used vs. skills never used.
