Guild hall or house?

One thing I really do wish we could do, or at least have the ability to obtain is dedicated guild halls. Not a player house botched to be one...

I have the Ebonheart chateau as my guild Hall and it really is decorated with that in mind, it has all you could need and decorations are placed in a realistic manner... But only 24 people can visit at one time. And you have to access it via finding my name... Visit residence... Painful for new players of eso. many players I encounter do not even know you can visit other players houses... let alone how.

Imagine if we had a simple button on the guild page - go to guild Hall.

Player population subject to property size. You can't fit 100 people in the free Inn room granted...

But you can easily get 100 to 200 into my guild Hall and still have space to walk with your arms out.

Personally I believe this would justify having guild halls to start with.

Even have it accessed by non guild members as an option. For the sake of marketing and advertising your guilds facilities...

The one thing I would be against is a guild trader inside the guild Hall because that would damage the current competition for a city trader... But who knows maybe it would throw the market in a better direction.
What I propose is:
  • Players may toggle a property to become private living or open access (guild)
  • Guild page now hosts a "guild hall" button for short easy access
  • Players can host the guild hall as an open access for a set capacity of visitors - subject to property size
  • House visitors for guild hall is raised from 24 to a maximum of 100 or 200 - subject to property size

This probably should be in the Housing subforums ... shouldn't it @Varidian?

In other words, there are no plans for guild halls in the Summerset patch about to drop for which we would discuss in the PTS forums.

Setting that issue aside for a moment, I support your idea in it's most basic form ... a place for guildies to meet that isn't a player house.

But, raising the visitor or furniture limit is a tangible problem. Consider the load times already when you queue into your own house at the max limit with ESO+.

Finally, note that this has been brought up in the forums a bunch of times already. The restrictions I mentioned above are likely what is scaring ZOS off on this sort of idea.

I posted it into the housing forums soon after this, when I spotted it...

plus, if you run a guild of 400 - like most trader guilds. what use is it having a house that can only hold 24 people. that's not a guild hall. that's a waiting room at a GP clinic...

personally I have no issue with loading times as it is. if I recall too my house it takes less than 10 seconds

A button like this one? My husband has written an add-on that is still in beta, but if you want to try it out, you can get it at here.

It's not configurable: it automatically selects the guild leader's house as the guild hall. But perhaps he should make it available through esoui/minion anyway, as that covers 80% of the cases, I think.

see this is exactly my point. if your husband can make this from home, and make it work.... why the hell cant the devs make a more adept version, and official one.

so many people cry back at me about ohhhh the loading time though ohhhhh nooooo change is bad.
if your PC isn't up to running an MMO than upgrade lol.. as far as I'm concern, guilds need a hall. imagine joining the fighters guild or mages guild... and non of them had any halls or buildings?

it makes no sense. its madness that people are hiding behind the "they wont do it, people wont like the loading time"

if auridon can have half the servers population crowded into the bankers room with minimal issue. I'm absolutely positive that my home can hold more than 24 people too.

and at least adding a button like that one in your pic can not be so hard to implement

What it should have been done was to have the guild leader buy a 'house' via the guilds tab with the guild funds and that basically opens up the house to all guildies only. Set permissions to guild ranks to be able to put in furniture and the like to the guild hall and move them around as they see fit. As long as the guild is not disbanded, the house would not 'disappear' if the guild lead is not in the guild anymore.

Increase the player limit to 60, which is 5 x a trial group.

Include more npcs, like blacksmiths and such that you can only purchase via guild tab with writs or gold.

The best housing ingame so far that I have played is wildstar. Hands down the most easiest and the most intuitive for any players so far. If you think what players had done for eso housing is awesome, see videos of wildstar housing. It's breathtaking. Eso should follow this model, incorporate it into the current guild system.
