In my early ESO days I managed to get a psijic ambrosia recipe, which was 125k at the time. I was selling it and was trade scammed by another player in belkarth, he was using a modded controller to switch out the gold and accept in a blink of an eye. Since 125k at the time was a huge deal to me, I was seriously bummed out. Here I had a huge milestone for me being stolen by another player's greed. Well thanks to some lucky fragment drops, i managed to get another and once again was selling it by cod only. A female player messaged me and i cod it to her. She pays for it...then sends the recipe back, telling me to keep it. She said that she just came back after a long break and felt like burning some gold. She told me to enjoy the gold.

This woman cheered me up greatly with the game and proved that while there may be bad selfish players, there are also great, kind hearted selfless players. This had a huge impact on my perspective in this game and with other players. If she ever reads this, thank you so much!

    So many things...

The very first guild I joined, the GM kept me in all purple training armor every 10 levels. Taught me the ropes of the game and put up with my incessant questions about EVERYTHING.

More recently... about a month ago I got a whisper from one of my guild members (I had been GM for about a month). He wanted me to meet him in Belkarth because he had something he wanted to donate for the guild. He opened up a trade window with me and proceeded to give me around 2m worth of gold mats to "use for raffles and giveaways." He hasn't logged on since :( I can only guess it was his parting gift from the game. Being a newer GM, I couldn't have been more appreciative. It did make me tear up like for real. It feels amazing being able to host great raffles for the members

Tonight was another one... I hosted an auction for my guild. It was a blast and a lot of awesome packages were sold. Towards the end, someone said they had so much fun they put a healthy deposit into the guild bank. Another moment that someone blew me away in the game.

There is a lot of generosity in the game. And when you are generous, you'll start to notice the players you're around a lot become more generous as well.

On Christmas 2016 someone on here gave me 50,000 gold and some gold mats because I was a scrooge in the secret santa thread saying no one would do that.

Also as a testament to how horrid and toxic Cyrodiil can be, I find it incredibly kind when other players can quietly agree to a cease fire in Cheydinhall so everyone can Quest in peace.

I'd just come back to NA and I just wanted to get some gold transmute orbs AP quick and this frickin severe hard core pvp guy (rank 50) just let me flip all the flags a few times and drilled on the World bosses but whispered me to come get the kills and didn't kill me except the first time I was getting a shard -after I respawned I whispered him or her and just asked 'mind if a farm some transmute and some telvar so I can sort out my gear?' He was all sure - follow me, and was all helpful. <3 I made like 100k telvar in that run, got the shards and a load of AP from flags and a gold orb for each of my chars to open!

PvE tank in Imperial city fishing. Didn't bother trying to kill him and we had a nice chat. I ended up buying half his house since he only needed like 75k more

Sadly no such thing has happened to me. I've got some nice friends though so can't complain to much

Last day of jesters fest ... I had everything except the duby cam ... Was really struggling to find it , shouted out in guild chat for one to buy ... Was offered several free and before I could barter a price I was sent one in the post

Im putting it down to good karma as in always helping others and sending stuff where I can ...

When I was a new player, sone kind member of one of my trading guilds bought some of the Columbine reagents I was selling.

He very kindly sent me the Columbine back, along with a nice note that Columbine was worth a lot more than 20g apiece and maybe I might want to try using Master Merchant.

I owe my fortune in ESO to that guy.

That's what really makes this game worthwhile.

Without me ever asking for anything, some dude bought me my first mount and made me more than 2 sets of training gear, all purple. All he asked for in return that i extend that favour to others as and when I was in a position to do so. I like to think I've kept that promise.

I'm pretty sure most of the unsavoury characters that now populate this game do so because they themselves were treated like *** in the beginning. They got screwed over and it's that mindset that has remained with them.

And I vouch that you have - you helped me out, prof & I was very grateful.

Do try & do the same (but have little gold) so do by actions.

My experience in ESO (since closed Beta says) has been 99% positive, and it's hard to pick out one particular nice thing over another. I truly believe you give what you get, and I always strive to help anyone any time - whether it be giving advice or actual items, or helping with quests - or just being friendly ;)

But if I have to choose one, it would probably be back in the early early days, back when the game was first released. There was a guy who had sky rocketed to vet, and was offering to run people through dungeons and other content that otherwise was difficult or impossible to complete for a solo or low level player - (and this was back when group finder was "non-existent", zones were still level specific, and people were still getting the feel for the game and especially the group content). So he ran me through a couple of group dungeons, and was patient enough to let me read and listen to quest stuff along the way. It definitely set the precedent for my wanting to help others after that ^^

^This. The rare silently-agreed-to ceasefires in Cyrodiil around the quest areas always put a little smile on my face. I have it as a habit to never be the first one to strike in that kind of situation, and more often than not the "enemy" player feels the same way. (And if you strike down a friendly "enemy", may karma be with you!)

    Friendly questers unite! ^^

The nicest thing strangers have done for me in this game is give me set pieces that drop in dungeons that I asked for. nice gesture, but it doesn't compare to what everyone has experienced here. Mine is just a common courtesy. lol

When I started over on PS4 after One Tamriel made it impossible for me to play on PC without dipping down to an average of 15 FPS on medium, I mentioned in guild chat that I was not looking forward to starting crafting over... Someone in the guild sent me one of EACH weapon/armour type (with the exception of nirn items) for reasearch, free of charge. It was such a nice and unexpected gesture, and I pay it forward whenever I can.

Back when I was a PVE boy i once went to stormhaven arena and started to duel random people

One guy was there and spent 2 hours of his time to teach me the basics of dueling and analysing every won or lost duel (against other players) and telling me what to improve in a constructive way

    Great guy

Back when infallible aether was bis 4 piece, I was after a sharpened lightning staff. In a pug from zone chat on nAA, some guy got the staff. I asked if they needed it and they come up and traded it to me for free.

I was shocked, many in the group wanted it but guess I was first to ask. I did trade with them again and gave them 50k, as getting my perfect drop for free, I just felt I owed that person my gratitude.

Another story - back in the days of veteran levels.

I was doing blackheart haven which was level 38 (the minimum level possible before one tamriel), there was me, my cousin and a friend. We were all under levelled and didn't have any great knowledge of rotations or anything (still noobs). We struggled and battled to the final boss... He was impossible for us, we tried for hours and could not kill old blackheart.

There was no guild chat or whispers (console) and we wasn't in group finder. So somehow we needed to find a 4th to help us out. After messaging (via xbox chat) people, one guy responded. He was a vet 16 currently playing in Cyrodiil, he came all the way out of cyro and ran all the way through dungeon to help kill the boss. When I say help I mean he killed him almost instantly (vet 16 versus lvl 38), we was in awe. After all our troubles, this guy just nuked the boss like he was a mudcrab or something. We thanked him greatly for his help, then he went back to PVP.

Although all we got was a skill point, it was the experience that was fun, would've been frustrated if we gave up so this guy really made that experience worthwhile.

Today I was fighting 3 enemies near a chest. Another player showed up and stood next to the chest during my fight, when the fight was finished they stepped aside and left the chest for me. I appreciated it enough that I left it for them.

Since i have so much trouble grouping, pretty much anyone who groups with me by choice when I ask or lets me join their group. With the notable exception of the guy who "let" me join him for two late night 4-hour training runs to learn vDSA and then snubbed me to invite his buddy to do my role for when he ran to complete it. Thankfully someone in my other guild was kind of enough to let me run vDSA with his group the next week and I was able to complete it then, and having had already learned the fights, able to be a bonus to that group instead and we were able to complete in good time.
