jlmurra2✭✭✭✭✭Altmer are the most powerful race for magicka builds, with the exception of fire magicka. People like to have that advantage.

strangeradnd✭✭✭✭Nords for sure. I don't think anyone even liked them in Skyrim. Heck I always chose the Imperials just so I wouldn't have to choose the Stormcloaks and it carries over to ESO. They come across as being dumber than a stump and then there is their appreciation of snow, whats wrong with these people.0 -

It used to be that you played imperial or you played wrong. So, I am sure everyone still has several imperials. For the longest time Nords had pretty bad racials but people liked the race. I would have to say Bosmer.0 -

There's a stupid amount of players who for one don't care about min maxing. And two are Skyrim fanboys.
I got into elder scrolls with Skyrim, and I am a fanboy of Skyrim. I main a nord (in all fairness every mmo I've played I picked the stocky northern ice races. Like dwarves from WoW was my main, barbarians in everquest and diablo.) I know I'm not alone. Skyrim was one of the best games ever to be released, and the players in eso are bound to choose nords for that reason.
But let's get real...the passives suck.
I'd say khajit or orcs would be bottom in races picked. Even though they have good passives they have low amount of love in game. Khajit has meh passives with one zone and hardly any notable in game NPCs. Orcs are in the same boat, meh passives with one zone and no notable main story NPCs.
Nords have a VERY high amount NPC love, and you always see nords in every thing you do. It hard to get away from their quests and NPCs. Hell the first NPC you meet in wailing prison is a nord! Also two main zones and a high king.
As for players you see them a LOT. Many players don't gives two rats asses about passives. They want to recreate their toons from Skyrim!1 -

Wood Elf girls are plentiful, though. The guys are just so dang ugly.
One of my alts is a lady Orc, and I hardly ever see them played. Male Orcs are SO MUCH more common.

✭Imperials. There's really only two main reasons to play Imperial: for a tank build or for RP. And there's two reasons not to play one: other races have better passives for your build or you don't have access. Add to that if you want a toon that you can build a house decor theme around, Imperials aren't it, unless it's the Daedric-worshipping kind.
