no embers.. very interesting approach. I'll soon be revamping my magDk, but you got me very confused on using embers or not. I guess I'll have to test it out.

Asgari’s Approach to mdk
Find out if Rhage is on so he has purify.
If not, either shop in the crown store, stare at his mount for 45 minutes, or slot embers.

Also, as the video clearly demonstrates, Rhage can't get kills w/o a mDK in his group.

The days of double s&b are dead and pointless. Even using a frost staff back bar is pointless.

Next update will probably swap from dw to inferno but resto back bar has its place now unfortunately. Unless some of the changes next update make it so you can double destro.

Resto staff on a DK just seems like a crutch to me. I know it makes things easier, don't get me wrong.

But I'm also a weirdo who doesn't use proc sets or "standard" builds or gear either, so there's that.

With the new 2H changes, I might go back to a matchstick on my DPS bar, but I don't think I can bring myself back to a resto staff.

Think you got it back wards. Taping down rmb while block casting is the crutch. Resto staff dks tend to be way squisher and require much more skill to play in my experience.

There is no such thing as crutch in open world. And even if there was, I would say SnB mDks are the just worse offenders on that.
And mDks are slowly getting more and more into the destro/resto playstyle from what I'm seeing. Especially with the new changes to 2 handers, I'm pretty sure we will see a lot more pyromancer builds. With all the defiles flying around some even use pirate skeletion for extreme tankyness while also having extreme damage output.
