I'm one of the people who farmed their full Buoyant Armiger set all by themselves. Heck, I farmed duplicates just to sell them.
I've no problem with a hard to get motif, it's this RNG bullcrap within a limited event timeframe that sucks.

I did the same thing, only with 15 characters.

I don't know if we have to do the anniversary quest first in order to get the drops, though, or if we'll get the drops automatically even without doing the quest first.

I think you should receive the boxes without doing the quest. You just won't have the memento to earn double XP.
