Help returning player main story

I’ve been gone almost a year, bought the morrowind dlc and made a warden, did some quests and wanted to start the main story. I was able to start the main quest but after escaping the next quest I need to go to the Harborage as requested but when I arrive the door is locked, from what I been reading on the forum supposedly all the main story is unlocked last time I played it was every 5 levels or so the prophet would call upon me for missions. I can’t get they the locked door and continue the main story am I missing something?

bongtokin420insd16✭✭✭✭Did you go to the right Harborage location? There is one located in Auridon, Stonefalls, and Glenumbra for each alliance, and you have to go to the one you are associated with.

UnseenCat✭✭✭✭The every-5-levels progression was dropped with the One Tamriel changeover. Now, the Prophet will tell you he'll contact you in a while. Then you leave the Harborage, go around the corner, and his projection is right there imploring you to come back right away! It's a little odd.
So, you can conceivably run through 99% of the Molag Bal quest at once, just mostly ducking in and out of the Harborage except for the few side jaunts outside. That would get pretty monotonous, though, so I tend to blow right by him and do other things for a while before coming back.0 -
neverwalk✭✭✭✭you can do main-story's quest one after another. not every 5 levels anymore. Have you started doing Fighters and Mages Guild quest-line, as they sorta run with main-story.0 -

main quest is pretty good but the instant repeat is annoying, it should been an delay between them, not the 5 levels but perhaps two hours or something.I, for some reason, dislike the main story. It really makes no sense to me.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.0 -
BRCOURTN✭✭✭✭✭The main quest is worth doing just for the final quest. No spoilers, but it’s still my main motivation for doing the main story on alts. That and all the skill points of course

I'm the opposite. The only disappointing thing I've seen about the MQ is the extreme pansification of Mannimarco. The guy drops like a wet sack now, when originally, he was one of the toughest bosses in the game.
A shame ZoS turned him into a snow lily. I actually looked forward to that fight to see how much of the game I've actually learned.
ZoS should reduce that "3 gold bar" marker to a 1 bar. Lichs are stronger than he is now.

Armatesz✭✭✭✭✭I've tested this with alts but whichever harborage you enter first will be the one you will have to enter from then on. Doesn't matter too much on alliance for this though. Need to test further quest line though.Ärmätèsz

Wish it was "come back to the harborage when you're ready"
I was hoping that if I didn't stop Molag Bal he would actually destroy Nirn! But that's never going to happen...The Molag Bal fight is a work anyway. lolPS5 Pro NA - RobdacoolV20
