Can “Hip Flaps” Be a Toggle?

They seriously screw-up a lot of outfits, and even look absolutely ridiculous on some pieces of gear. Often times than not even appearing as if they serve no purpose. If you won’t remove them (as I’m sure that some people do like them), is it possible that you all at ZOS can have them be on a toggle (just like hiding a character’s helmet)?

Are you talkIng about the front and back flaps that every piece of armor seems to have? I really hate those. My magWarden has an astounding posterior and I want to be able to flaunt it.

Honestly, i kind of wish every outfit piece was "Hidible" other than just helmet. And for all of the people saying "There's just going to be a bunch of people running around naked" we already have orcs in pink wedding dresses, and trust me there's a lot more naked people in ES lore than Orcs in corsets. As for hip flaps i think that would be more difficult because it's probably part of the model itself, and thus harder to remove without replacing the entire model completely.

I agree with SexualCabbage (how's that for something I never expected to type in my life) but it sure would be nice. They're annoying sometimes. You want a nice semi-armored look that you could actually go out to dinner in, sit down in a chair, not catch on corners of cabinets and such, comfy in a sofa, and you end up with those things. Blah.

I greatly dislike all those flaps in most of the chest pieces.. Yes, they are part of chest armour and in many cases, they would actually make fighting and especially sneaking a lot harder...

But i guess prudency nad moral code demands, that hips and crotch are hidden from sights... :pensive:
Anyway the outfit system would do well with toggles for all these flaps/tassets/pockets whatever they are called and also for shoulders separately, gloves, belt and boots.. I dont see why especially Argonians pr also Khajit would have any need for boots..

If there's one thing I appreciate about the new Outfit system is the ability to mix and match attire which may otherwise be hindered by one's skill line in the crafting tree.

My stamBlade is "wearing" several pieces of light armor which I can get rid of some of those gaudy attributes such as arm cops and those large side plates. Some of them don't even look viable on armor.

Some armor even goes so far as adding ridiculous parts which would do more harm than good, such as pointy bone parts on wood elf armor. Really? If I trip and skin my knees, that bone shard's going right into my arm.

For some reason, armor in this game seems to be more about cosmetic appearance rather than combat performance. I will never understand how "armor" pieces leave a person's chest and midrift entirely exposed. Ugh.

Another pet peeve: female chest armor with built in bra support. Ew. :#

Some dude posted an image of his character with a sharp metal downward-pointing triangle in the crotch. Clearly it would castrate his character. Silly.

How does the existence of Orcs in wedding dresses justify giving people the option to have sillier looking characters? If anything we should gender lock the wedding dress

I meant in terms of both lore and visuals, Nords being seduced by witches to lose their clothes has always been an elder scrolls trope, so in terms of lore it's not that unusual. And from a visual perspective you can't tell me that a character in a hot pink or lime green wedding dress is not harsher on the eyes than a nord in his underwear.

Well... There are a few cloaks, but they’re a tad bit “weird” (e.g. Breton Hero Armor costume). As for capes, we need those.

This, hate lots of the hip flaps in that they are to huge and tend to float. ruins lots of outfits.

The rear flap has an toggle its not seen on Khajiit or argonians as it would clip with the tail, don't mind the front and back much however.

Grinding just make you go in circles.

It’s not even the front and rear flaps that I have a problem with, as they can sometimes pull an outfit together. It’s the flaps on the side. Those are the main culprits of janky outfits.

Yeah, these bother me. My main is wearing the mercenary light armor, and the dinner plates on his hips don't seem to even be attached to anything. It's like he super glued pauldrons to his coat. They do float, too.

As others have said, though, hiding individual components of armor pieces would be really difficult to implement. They should just maybe talk to their concept artists and modelers about approaching some different design theory in the future, if only for variety's sake.
