A lot of the UI elements had no business being as archaic as they were in 2014, let alone 2018. I couldn't stand this game on PC after the novelty wore off and before I installed a lot of addons.

Ive spent hours pressing square to make potions at the alchemy station, why is it that you cant choose the amount you wish to craft in one go? It puts me off making them at all! I dont see why this feature shouldn't be added immediately.

If they have their server setup like another game I played it may be due to every item having its own id number and being tracked. A stack of potions for example is not 200 of one thing its actually 200 different items that are given id numbers and tracked. In the other game the devs told us it was done this way as part of their anti-cheating mechanism.

And every time an item got created it wrote data in several different locations which allowed them to track players who sold in game currency/items for real life money and players who exploited item duplication bugs. To not over load the server, they created a time delay where players can only craft a set number of items per second.

But yes, zos does need to add an autocraft function to the base ui so players can just wait until it’s finished instead of pushing the button repeatedly. It could also be part of zos’ conditioning mechanism. You know push button get treat.

Yikes. We either need addons for our poor console players or ZOS needs to do a really big QOL pass for these things. Not having addons in ESO is like living in a nation with no infrastructure. You can still do all the things, just slowly, poorly, and while getting left behind in every respect compared to those who have them.

Disagree with that. Add ons are my main reason for wanting to stay on console, level playing field. Changes should be base game or not at all.

Sure QOL change like this be awesome, but majority of others jiat sound like cheating

What addon do you think counts as cheating or uneven play fields? Miat's was fixed via API changes, and the majority of useful addons are very low-impact on hardware, so they aren't exactly tech gated.

You're niave to think no replacement for miat's exists. Raid notifier also continues to exist, babying the bad PC players who can't run a trial or even dodge an arrow without it. There's even ones that tell you when to recast buffs (or is that raid notifier?)

There's not a Miat's replacement because players can no longer access information about stealth attacks while in PvP zones by legitimate means. Aka, it's no longer some widespread menace that completely inhibits stealth playstyles.

Raid Notifier is freely available and used by quite literally any endgame player worth their salt, even if it's mostly a matter of extra insurance in case audio or visual cues don't go off (which is more common than it aught to be). It can't even be labeled cheating in the broadest sense as leaderboards are not shared between console and PC (so everyone can make equal use of it) and it doesn't affect how other players perform (like the old Miat's did)

Buff tracking is part of the base game UI as of a few months ago, so no addon required there. I pity anyone who actually chooses to embrace the monotony of counting down buff and DoT timers when the tools are offered to you by the game itself, or trying to use nothing but visual cues in the sea of visual noise found in trials. Assuming i already have ingredients set i can make a stack in 30 second or so. How is it taking you hours and more importantly how many potions are you making? I mean are you making enough for the entire year? Or your entire guild?

Unless things are different on the PC and you're not counting a stack to be 200 and poisons, then it's impossible to make a stack in 30 secs, especially on console. Each batch of 4 has an animation/process/cooldown it goes through before you can interact with the action button again.

i'm not sure what constitutes a stack of poisons. but it isn't 200. after reading this thread i logged in to check what i could do. only ever made poisons for writs so far.

made 256 breach poison in 29.6 seconds.

anyone know how many poison make a stack?[/quoteyou have to animation cancel. Gosh

Press 'F' to pay respects for console peasants.

But I do agree, OP. It's ridiculous that they haven't put this simple QoL feature into base game yet.
