Server Transfers, Ever?

My family moved to Europe. I am now 3 days into my new EU toon and it is terrible to have to start over like this after 3+ years on the NA server and having maxxed our pretty much everything the game has to offer. The game now basically forces me to either continue on NA with pretty bad latency or to start completely from scratch and redoing the last 3 years... I understand that copying over entire characters with all their titles, achievements, holdings, etc might be technically difficult but can we at least keep the CP level and the crown store purchases? I can live with having to farm all the maelstrom/trial and other gear and even researching the traits and losing all motifs is acceptable. A complete restart from zero is too much to ask though...

What I don't under is WHY would you go from NA to EU just because you moved?? I understand about moving from Xbox to ps4 or to PC but just going from NA to EU just because you moved?? Why? I have both Xbox NA "main" and EU and I live in Colorado and I get the EXACT same ping, speed, and fps on both NA and EU

Simple reality is 60 ping to EU server and 260+ on NA server from where I currently live in France. That is a huge difference in how the game and especially combat operates. And its pretty logical that my ping would be considerable lower to the EU server. Thats just normal network latency. Talk to our friends in Australasia and ask about their ping and how much they would love a SEA based server

And just on topic of server transfers: I think ZOS should make crown store purchases available on both platforms. That should be technically easy to do. For a full transfer I can imagine that some manual or complex work might be needed so I would be fine if this was a paid service. I doubt they will ever create it though as there just arent a lot of people switching servers or platform to justify the investment in creating this functionality. I poster both here and on Reddit trying to find people who made my move in reverse and there was literally 1 person who responded. So yes, server transfer will probably remain impossible for now

Oh i would give anything for a server transfer!!

On NA i play at a regular 300-350 ping whereas on EU i could go as low as 230-250.
I try my lvl best but still do end up becoming deadweight sometimes in more serous trials.

ZOS pls take my money, at this point i don't even care if it's overpriced! Just pls let me transfer my stuff/crowns/CP

    Hey @DjinnRa

We understand your desire for wanting to transfer your character and its items due to the good fortune you had while playing. Unfortunately, we don't support server transfers at this time. Any characters you create and items they unlock are restricted to the server they are currently on.

The feedback about server transfers in this thread has been noted. Thanks!
Note that server transfer will also make account restore after hacking easy.
Both require an build file of characters and account.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The "level of connection" is that the same bank account (ie, Crowns) can purchase things in both servers.

But other than that, it's separate databases stored on servers in separate continents.

Other MMOs have this server transfer ability, there's no technical reason why this can't happen.

I'm quite sure the servers are physically on different continents and there are no connections between them.

    lol wut

The servers are connected to the internet.

ZOS won't do transfers because they don't want to, likely for financial reasons or contractual reasons with Sony/MS. Why offer transfers when people who really dig the game will just buy another copy, subscribe on another platform, buy Crowns on multiple servers?

Every PTS cycle ZOS does character copies from NA->PTS and then EU->PTS. It is clearly possible to do transfers. It's not rocket surgery. It's just not a priority for them.

I, too, would pay a pretty penny to transfer from XB to PC.

In the case of people who are already on PC there is no financial incentive to not allow the transfer as we can already play on both EU and NA with a single account. I think its simply not worth the trouble for them to create this as the % of the player base that this is relevant for is simply too small. In my case I am now 4 weeks into EU and already at 412CP with two max level characters. They did ‘trick’ me into spending a ton of crowns on crown crates, a house and other cosmetics on my EU account which I would never have purchased if they would have enabled me to transfer all my stuff from BA. So they win, well played!

Add to that, each server has it's own self contained economy. For example, on ps4, the NA server tends to be cheaper when it comes to mats, a lot cheaper. There would be no stopping those people that would buy in bulk on the NA server and sell high on the eu server. Crown store items I agree with you on.

Something will have to change in future though. We either get a TESO 2 or they are gonna have to allow a mass console transfer when the PS4 and Xbone replacements eventually hit.
