Of the 8 characters I have done, only 2 have gone completely silent and no one noticed me. Didn't get a bounty. It is extremely hard and only way I have seen is if you see someone lure all those npcs away from seeing your direction. Afterwards it is knowing where the butcher pops her head up at and where the guards patrol at as well. Not easy and you can drop and retry if you need to get that achievement. My main I had to drop it once before I learned the trick to it. Think I might go and help others so they don't get a bounty with the apples though. Should be simple enough... attack people and draw them away from players. Hope no guard is nearby that spot... well don't think any are eastish of it.

I think these quest may be bugged since I did it on my khajiit thief with sets and passives that lets me stay hidden even 1 meter in front of a mob or city guard (-1m detection radius in raw stats calculator), but even then I was spotted while stealing apples and also by the butcher from around 10 metres. This is ridiculous.
If the butcher doesn't count as a regular mob and has some extremely special detection radius, it should have the detection circle around them, just like the Hew's Bane city guards when we go stealth.

More to the point, I was so furious yesterday after being caught that I slayed all regular mobs around this place, so the other players had a clear spot for the apples. Didn't care for the bounty .

I've done the quest 16 times. 7 of which I did it without ever receiving a bounty. It isn't easy to make it so that you don't get a bounty while picking the apples. It is double as hard to avoid the butcher as well. I was never sure if guards will give you a bounty as well so I guess I kept away from a guard to boot. Btw yes she can see you through an invisibility and invis pots too... so distance is advised. Didn't know about passives for 1 meter but from what I can tell there are ways to trick her into going certain routes that make it so that you don't get a bounty for 1 and 2 so that she doesn't get that close to you.
The trick about the apples not getting a bounty is kinda hard for well numerous reasons... 1 so many of the ads. 2 random people getting caught under certain special pre requests that make them attack them so they are staring at you always. 3 they just stare at someone that stole something that they were going to que away from.
It is not easy to make it so that you don't get a bounty when getting the apples. I think hardest would be the apples part. The rest is memorizing where you see her at... helpful hint... go along the western side and make your way and see visually where she pokes her head at when she petitions you. I don't know the last location of where she goes by so I usually just hoof it all around the edge where the princess doesn't reset at. Just pay attention top right section so you know. Oh yeah and the final stretch for that bridge before you turn in the quest... yeah if you are fast enough you can literally just go through the water. So speed boost and try to hop skip on water, keep going through path and she will resync with you. If she desyncs from you the simple cause is you were not fast enough is more than likely the case.

Given up even trying now - just faster to pay the fine...

Was lucky on the magwarden, usually i just try and is happy then lucky, make sure to not have stolen stuff in inventory as guard take them.
