This event annoyed me last year as I tried it first with my paladin-style templar who doesn't have anything to do with the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood (but who seemed perfectly suited to a Jester's Festival). Halfway through the achievements I found he couldn't complete them without stealing. Nor, incidentally, can he do all the Morrowind quests. Promoting DLCs is one thing, but there ought to be an alternative quest path for those who purposely avoid such courses of action.
I just love how veteran players with PvP skills and a ton of Thieves Guild experience are prone to tell everyone else including new players how easy such quests are to complete!
Good idea, will try it tomorrow, my nb thief however in medium DD rather than stealth gear failed. magic Warden healer made it because fools was fighting the npc.VaranisArano wrote: »I did not, on two characters. I don't know if this is helpful, but I hid on the far side of the cart and reached through the tongues of the cart to grab the apples.
I also steal Princess without getting caught by mounting up, hitting Rapid Manuevers, and sprinting through Ebonheart through the left hand stairs.

The game is very villainous in theme. It is quite hard to be an actual hero without avoiding probably a good 40% or more of content.
Even with invisibility potions or skill (if you are a NB) it is almost impossible because there is always some one who deliberately pulls city guards near that spot and even fights them... terrible quest design flaw ZOS...phileunderx2 wrote: »I don't think there is a way not to get caught. You don't need to be a pacifist to be a hero! This wasn't an issue for "true good" characters even with the Thieves Guild DLC which could itself be easily avoided, it's the subsequent basic quests that include criminal activity that create the problem - and even that wouldn't be an issue if there was an alternative path to follow in order to complete the quest.
