Flying mounts are for the 2019 chapter, it'll be the only thing why you should buy it. Because the next trial will also be a vCR (vAS).

If it's a NPC it proves nothing. Tons of flying mobs already in game.
I don't think the games design will ever allow seamless flight from one zone to another and invisible barriers would be ***.

It's an NPC and ZOS (Kai) has confirmed there will be no flying for players.
Can't stop that hype train though, this will be the same disappointment as the Spell Crafting not being in Summerset.

I would like flying mounts but I don't see that happening. However, when I say "flying", I really mean "hovering" for balancing issues. Wouldn't necessarily be fair if people could just fly over the land and avoid everything. Everyone would just choose the flying mount.

If they were to implement these kinds of mounts, just make them hover very close to the ground but give them flying animations.

    Never going to happen.
    One word
    Cyrodiil.

Not trying to side with those who want flying, because I could care less either way but the argument of "cyrodiil" is pointless because all ZOS would have to do is not allow flying in that particular zone so it's kind of useless to use that as an excuse for no flying.

I would honestly probably stop playing if they introduce flying mounts. The whole idea behind MMOs is to have a world filled with people moving around. Once they came to WoW everyone just stood in a capital waiting for a dungeon queue to pop or flew around to resource nodes. they are such a stupid item to put into these types of games.

Isn't that what ESO end game already is? Aside from daily quests most people gather in towns and use queues to get into dungeons/PvP.

That, and Cyrodiil is pointless, Queen Ayren is the true emporer anyway, so meh. Fly away!

The problem is ESO doesn't have the world for it. They also have the Wayshrine system (which was their reason closer to launch for not needing flying).

I mean they would have to do a damn load of world design and redesign to make flying mounts viable, and I just don't see ZOS doing that.

GW2 also had a wayshrine system so they would not need mounts.

There are games that only allow people to fly at a low altitude, so if they would go that rout not much would have to be reworked.

I'm just stuck on the "one should never say never". I've seen so many "promises" broken over the years. ^^
    Anything is possible.

Personally I think that's just an NPC of some sort.
But if NPC's can fly, maybe later players will be able to. who knows.

It is an NPC, as I keep posting ZOS (Kai) confirmed that on the German forums. :disappointed:

A flying mount doesn't have to fly high, GW2 has "flying" or rather gliding mounts that hover a couple feet off the ground, and it looks pretty nice.

I can't with this post. People already complain about pets getting in the way. If a city had 20+ people on "gliding mounts" with wings out....jesus on a stick, no one could see anything.

Ahhh, we'll be fine. Never had any issue with any pets getting in the way, nor foresee any issue with wings flapping. It's will only be for traveling/flying, or floating or hovering. You still have to get off like any other mount and will still see things ahead of you or below while traveling/on mount.

      1. You're one week too late.

      2. That's an NPC. There are some daedric creatures that can fly. Does that mean we can fly? No.

      3. There won't be flying mounts in ESO.

Your first point is a moan.

Your second point is nonsense, not because its incorrect but because its simply unreasonable to use as a basis for argument, daedric creatures are powerful beings letting us dominate them by riding them would be ridiculous so of course we can't ride them and as I pointed out there are creatures in Nirn that have been tamed and flown by mortals. That said just too spite you I hope they do bring out a daedric flying mount just so I can laugh.

Your third point is unfounded. Even if zos say there will not be any flying mounts they havent got a good track record at keeping their word and they know people want them.

You look at things from very layman perspective. Fact that there are already flying creatures but we dont have flying mounts is kinda suggestion that something is blocking developer from introducing flying mounts. Doesnt matter daedric creatures or not we have flying mobs but still there are no flying mounts. That is already huge hint which zenimax developers expanded and confirmed in one of ESO Lives. Game engine have no features that would allow us to explore air and underwater spaces freely. That means it would require huge reworking of game graphic engine itself which is really big deal and it takes lot of time and resources which most propably wont give enough money back to refund itself not even saying about profit. I dont know what You mean that this is unfounded and ZoS is not providing good track at keeping their word. They said that once and once is enough. You expect official statement on main website every week or what ?

I could see them adding a gryphon mount but the wings would almost certainly be purely cosmetic, or the default run animation would be gliding like how the Sep Adder/Brassilisk pets glide when you move fast enough. As others have said, actual flying probably isn't going to happen.

Don't even tempt me. It is probably too good to be true, but the things I would do for a flying mount.

Ok but then it *** on literally every other mount in game and makes them 100000000x less attractive compared to something that can fly lol..

As someone who owns over 20 mounts that i paid for i would hate see something so much greater be worth same thing but 10000000x cooler.

Unless of course they edit all other mounts to fly then i would vote yes :)

      Thats just selfish lol

      I for one would love for this too happen no matter what, simply because;

      1) flying mounts should be a thing there are plenty of tamed flying creatures used by men and mer in the universe of Elder Scrolls.

      2) It would bring one of my best friends back to the game.

      3) I wont Have too pay to get somewhere at a decent pace anymore (apart from the initial mount purchase).

      1. Name flying mounts aside from dragons whom only bend to dovah and Griffin whom only altmer have access to

      2. If your friend needs flying to come back to the game he didn't enjoy it in the first place

      3. The wayshrine cost is laughable and maxed mounts with rapids are fast enough

The telvanni use flying bugs. (on top of simply being able to levitate and fly themselves)
(not that I want flying mounts, I really dont like the idea in a mmo actually. its always horrible and just floating mounts, not flying mounts.)
