Should delves be solo content like the main quest?

Yes, please, make all delves Craglorn-style. It will encourage new players to gather in groups. It will allow to increase difficulty of the delves, as well as to introduce more complex boss mechanics, so veteran players again will be able to have fun exploring delves. Increase respawn timers for the mobs and bosses, alter drop rates accordingly, and, damn, even allow players to pick a difficulty level while entering the delve for better rewards! Just think about it like light version of dungeons! Here comes a traning ground for newbies, see? It will make game much better, more entertaining!

    Isn't that covered by Delve+ ?

Pretty sure it is and I prefer they leave it as is; delves and delves+
Indeed, but the only place, where Delves+ can be found is Craglorn. I'm speaking about applying this approach for other zones as well, with some additional tweaks on the way.

    Checked this out...

Dang, I hit enter too soon. So, yeah, you're right although I could swear I saw some elsewhere but now that I look, it appears I was absolutely, 100%, totally wrong.

I'll just go back in my corner now. Sorry!

I say yes, but only if there is an option to do them in a group as well. Of course, you are always going to get some people who think they have a right to dictate what another's playing experience should be, and say there should not be a solo option at all. That in itself is a pretty selfish attitude as it eliminates the option of personal choice and preference.

They are in Craglorn, why not everywhere?

Any of these suggestions just would not work on something like XBox EU - its pop is low enough that doing anything apart from pvp in a decent group is like pulling teeth - Slow, and extremely painful. You need upto 3 days to form a trials group....

As it is, I have a CP 668 Magplar and she cannot complete any of the craglorn group delves alone. She is optimised gear wise as well, but I cannot understand/do rotations, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot get above 16K DPS. The bosses in the delves are 1.2M health, nearly that of a world boss (1.8M health). On her, I have found that any mob above 600K health is a no-go, so I have yet to do the craglorn group delves on her. I did get inside however, and grab all the skyshards!

    And I am not alone.

On my stamplar, any mob north of 250K health is pretty much a no-go without help, which means that even the public dungeons can be brutal on her. Heck, she struggles with dolmens alone as stamplars have a real problem with resources.

I enjoy running into other adventurers all over the world. My dungeon partner and I like to pair up baby toons to grab skyshards in delves and public dungeons. I’d prefer to see delves offer more challenges to encourage more players to explore together, not less. More solo content is not what this game needs.

I say the current craglorn difficulty is pretty nice for end game content, that is stuff you are supposed to do after the main quest and above level 50.
I kind of like having other players around in delves, some times you get an fast run catching up with other ahead other times you help new players, just by having them tag along.

I tend to do the public group dungeons at odd hours as they can often get too crowded, but then you run into one other player I always group up, +10% xp and you also get xp from mobs you don't hit.

Making delves instanced by default would be bad if harder as weaker players would need to find an group to do them.
Now it was an problem with delves after morrowind launch as they had more players than enemies and it got pretty ridiculous.
This however is an temporary problem.

And use the skeleton polymorp in an undead delve for an laugh.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Absolutely.

The game is ridiculously over crowded. I do a delve and public dungeon every day and it's rare that I see a trash mob alive. Even in off-peak times, every delve I enter is swarming with players. I was near level 20 on my first character before I realized delves even had trash mobs in them.

Even remote, old delves are full of players at all hours. I guess it's an unintended consequence of Tamriel One. Since any player can faceroll any delve, they're constantly full. Reminds me of the old EQ days when you had to call out "camp check" to see if any spawn points weren't occupied by players.

ESO is wildly popular and continuing to grow. MUCH more of this game needs to be instanced to handle the population.

No, because while it can sometimes be vexing how easy things get in there when others come, the main thing about it is server resources - if they make them solo, every player who enters spawns an entirely new copy of the dwelve, taking up one dwelve worth of server resources, while right now their servers only need to duplicate the dwelve if too many people pop in...

Ergo, making them solo-instances would increase lag, and if you wanna see how much "fun " that is, just jump into a cyrodil zerg and enjoy!

Also, as has been mentioned, the dwelves are not supposed to be hard - they are supposed to be the same difficulty as your average overland content, just with a boss at the end. Now, one could argue that maybe they could benefot from some buffing (like, say, ijncreasing the bosses HP so the fight takes a bit longer, or even adding the odd mechanic here and there), but locking out other players clearly is not the way to go.

If you want a challenge, there is public dungeons, and then there are the craglorn group dwelves which -can- be soloed, tho its tough (I myself have a 50/50 chance of managing those fights there, granted I am not the best player out there, so I expect some will solo it with panache - while many others will despair trying and get friends, like I would have had to two years ago, if I had friends that is)

Not everyone is as awesome as you and your buddies. There are people out there who need help. (And then there are the people who play with their friends, in a group.)
No one in the entire history of delves has ever needed help with a delve.

Even back when Doshia and main line solo instances had a little punch, delves have never been much more than a minor obstacle.
