Only if it saves me money
I'd much rather they just sell the crafting bag outright. Even if it was something crazy like 15,000 crowns. I buy the content releases outright. I will never pay for ESO+. There needs to be a solution for me outside of paying for that kind of functionality.

I don't think people realize how high the price of a lifetime subscription would be. It'd be something like $300-$400 at the very least and that's the only way I'd go for ESO+

The two examples I know of were 200-300USD.

'Lifetime subscription' means the life of the game - not my life. That pushes the concept right into the same concept as crown crates - pay a significant known quantity of money for a completely unknown return.

No since we can see with their "chapters" model a life time subscription would have no real value as players are expected to continue to pay for content that should be included in a subscription model. If the chapters were a true expansion model then I would have less of an issue but they are really nothing more then DLCs that we are expected to pay extra for.

I'd buy a couple of lifetime subscriptions if they made them available at a sensible price, perhaps to include all chapters by way of an incentive, but I don't feel in any way that they are under any sort of obligation to do so. I bought a couple for LoTRO when it launched and have never regretted it. Whether it made commercial sense for Turbine in the end I wouldn't know.

Yes, STO has a lifetime sub. They also have 'crown crate' equivalents, and plenty of things in the cash shop (ships, account utilities, races, costumes, etc, etc, etc). The lifetime sub only gives 500 crowns-equivalent a month, and gives it month-by-month.

It doesn't have as many inducements to subscribe in the first place, though - ESO+ gives a lot more, so I'd assume the general level of subscribers is higher in ESO.

You'll never see this option because many states, including the one I reside it, make the option illegal because it's prone to abuse.

Most came from the "lifetime membership fees" offered by gyms only to close their doors months later.

Lifetime sub is the only kind of sub i would ever pay for, assuming it would have a reasonable price. I really don't like all these pay-per-month money sucking schemes and avoid them like plague.

I like it in theory, but as Chapters have shown, we can't trust these guys. They will just come up with some new term, and create another, separate, pay wall.

So buy a lifetime subscription for what 1000 dollars? then keep paying every time they release a new "Chapter" which will probably start being every 3 months. yeah, They are probably thinking about it.

One time cost over constant cost? Sure, I'm good with that, even if it costs more upfront. Just like the smaller DLCs. I like being able to play even if my sub runs out.

Sell the craftbag...... no no no... They wouldn't do that. That is the leash they use to make sure people sub. If not for that people would just buy the crowns packs for the major DLC content (which is what I like to do). But that save costumers money so its no good.

Well obviously they wouldn't. But what if they did? o.o

    i would but...

    on second thought...

the whole "chapter" hustle makes you think they would come out with a bunch of features that wouldn't go to "lifetime" members.

    This, so much.

Although I don't want to see it offered, I'd like to see a price, as it would give me an idea of how long a life ZOS sees for the game.

No. Experience speaking lifetime subs are only offered by games which know they're not going to do well for many years.

ESO for all its issues doesn't show any sign of failing or slowing down, as such ZOS stand to make more money by asking for continued subs.

Their business model of B2P sub for extras also wouldn't work as well if there was a "buy more for all the things to play once".

Actually a very good model. Many MMORPG roll old expansions into the main game when nee ones come out (think Morrowind release). Players that like content either keep a sub or buy after paying for sub. Very reliable income compared to other options

I've bought two lifetime subscriptions in my life. One for Hellgate: London and the other for The Secret World. Neither was worth it as the lack of passive income ruined both games and Hellgate: London didn't even last long enough for the LTS to cost less than paying the sub until the game died.

Lifetime memberships are not a "lifetime" a lot of times its just like 2 years. this is from a game i was recently researching info about and also someone in phoenix won a "lifetime supply" of toilet paper from a radio shindig its not actually a lifetimes worth its usually for a few years. as for anything besides those two situations i know of i have no idea lol

EDIT: the game didn't die it just started but it was advertised as a "founders pack with lifetime membership" but then when you read on the lifetime membership was only two years

Voting on ZOS's business model seems like a pointless exercise. They are going to do what they are going to do. If they thought that offering lifetime subscriptions would make them more money, they would have done it already.

They should just remove subscription all together
In the way it’s structured NO

I’ve always suggested the ESO Plus should go away but there are reasons to have something like a dlc pre purchase or season pass bundle

The current eso plus doesn’t make sense to me as ppl keep saying they sub for the crafting bag or dyes.....ok so ZOS just sale those in a bundle or seperately and remove the sub

So that comes with 80 years worth of crowns?

Yeah, I use giropay in germany, and get all my crowns at once, so that means i would get 1,440,000 crowns. xD

Almost enough to get a radiant crate mount?

    -exactly- lol.
