What is this steel tornado build i see everyone run lately?

So lately in BGs I see so many people just spamming Steel Tornado like crazy, killing everything that relies on dodge. I became largely interested in this build after seeing what it can do to a whole group of nightblades. Anyone got any info? And Yeah i know its a dual wield skill. Jeez guys.

Steel Tornado is from the Dual Wield skill line and arguably one of the best stamina based AOE’s in the game. Highly recommended for clearing mobs quickly

Lots of builds use Steel Tornado as a form of execute in PVP.

Try Bloodspawn, Werewolf Hide, Clever Alchemist Stamden.

Subterranean Assault, Dawnbreaker, Steel Tornado. Massive AOE damage and low effort on your part.

I did slot it the other day to level it :-D didnt know it would start a new thing :-D

Joke aside it is good against zergs and dodgers

I seldom use it though as i prefer rapid strikes

I like to think I was the first one to start running this in BGs on PC NA. It was a direct response to the fact that they made my birds dodgeable.

(I know many stamdens ran it before me but it fell out of favor in CWC patch.)

I just spam it because BGs are 50% stamblades and that’s all I can do now.

It's good in group play, but the problem is in most builds it has to take up your spammable or your execute and its not a good execute in my opinion.

I disagree.. it’s a great execute because it’s the only execute in the game that can’t be dodgerolled.

But it’s also probably the most expensive, and you lose weapon skill line CC Like reverb or dizzy when you’re on your DW bar.

5 Sword Dancer
5 Spriggans
2 Slimecraw/Stormfist/Velidreth/etc.

...and spin-to-win.

It's probably more because of the explosion of baddies playing burst NBs with little to no defenses rather than a super secret new spin-to-win build. Knocking them out of stealth with an unblockable medium damage ability will pretty much screw them and that's exactly what Tornado does with minimal effort.

Bombard essentially does the same but in a frontal cone and not 360°.

Tornado is just the most convinient way to deal with said kind of players.

My NB uses steel tornado too. No reason I would need to use a bow just because shes a NB.

Too high of a cost for multiple or consecutive strikes. I prefer the Shrouded Daggers for both PvP and PvE.

It's all fun and games until you hit a couple DK'S, a Templar and a mag Sorc. Then that fancy build is locked down and torn apart.

It's very niche and certainly is not OP or a solution to winning.

You generally have to use an AOE to effectively fight NBs now. This typically means Steel Tornado or Caltrops for stamina.
The undodgeable "execute" also helps against other stam builds.

EVEN with a Detect pot going, NBs can still cause single target abilities to miss. So frustrating to see a target right in front of you and only see Miss, Miss, Miss due to cloak. So you typically use a pot to find them, then AOE before going back to single target.

Then there are no good options for Detect Potions for stamina. I typically use the Detect/Vitality but both benefits only last 15 secs which any good NB will Shadow Image and evade.

Or they just dodge around until Incap is up again. Then you have no potion for the next 30 secs.

Ah yes the return of spin to win groups is upon us, and with it one day soon we shall see nerf threads related to steel tornado. Can't wait. History truly does repeat itself.

My original warden build used spin to win , this was around the time clock work city just came out. People wondered why I used dw until I came rushing into a stack of people with shalks +dawnbreaker and spin to win. Then people started to catch on , now with no aoe caps you can expect to see it more.

I used to stand in the middle of them spamming Blazing Shield with Immovable up. There are still counters to these trains nowadays though. It's usually only 1 or 2 using that skill anyway.

In theory (just theory) a stamDK has quite strong supports for a steelnado build: FOO + Talons + Leap, but stam recovery with a stamDK is so bad it hurts.

Maybe a build using medium brass for tankiness and a dmg set can help

I made a stamsorc spin to win bomb. 15-25 kills per match is average even if their are premades. Stuffs legit in no CP and you can wipe entire groups if you know how to play it right and their aren't too many earthgores floating about.

That being said, it's not the greatest at playing objectively, if your into that sort of thing.

Few things: Bleed builds. Anti NB arms. Decent ability. Quick cloak is pretty solid tbh.

Ah, reminds me of my first times. Step into ESO, see the resto staff DPSs, batsorc/knights, immortal DKs using banner as a spammable, and much s2w dizziness.

Spriggans bone pirate. Steel tornado isn't dodgable so 4 stam classes all running it just spam it pretty much Insta killing everyone. Dumbest meta ever. ZOS can't build pvp for ***

The funny thing is the same happened some years ago when they increased the range to that absurd 12m (which later got nerfed again). Whole trains with nothing but Steelnado spam.
