Mechanical Acuity Set Feedback & Suggestion.

after some extensive examination compared to other sets and reading a few topics about it (Listed Below) It has come to my attention that mechanical acuity is turning out to be quite the powerhouse for a 6-trait set, however, to have such a small damage window (small in terms of duration) it looks a bit slightly "Underwhelming" from a particular perspective.

Feedback: Mechanical Acuity has a lot of potential, particularly for DPS specific builds/characters which provides a good option for many players, 5 seconds of non-stop critical damage can synergise really well with many abilities as well as certain monster sets (yes I speak of the Iceheart monster set) but I feel it could use a bit of a slight buff (not too much but something to make this particular set more noteworthy to extremely professional players.) but nonetheless, it combines well if paired with the right abilities & armor sets.

Armor/Monster sets that work well with Mechanical Acuity:
  • Storm Master
  • Iceheart
  • Briarheart
  • Defiler
  • Caluurion's Legacy
  • Zaan

Suggestion: the Mechanical Acuity set should last about 8 seconds instead of 5 so that there is a 10 second window with each cooldown instead of a 13 second window, & to off-set this, it could go from being a 6-trait set to a 9-trait set to indicate it's lethal power in the right hands. (Originally I thought of suggesting it last about 10 seconds with a 20-25 second cooldown so as to give the set a 10-15 second window between each proc, but I probably do not see that happening at any rate.)

your criticism is welcome people, speak your thoughts.
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

It's one of the strongest (if not strongest) sets in the game right now. They certainly won't be buffing it. I just hope they don't nerf it.

Yea I dont see it getting a buff. The cooldown kinda sucks but this set is ridiculous if used properly.

Wait, you want to buff what is probably the strongest set in the game?

The set is in a good place. Doesn't need a buff, nor a nerf really. And with jewelry crafting coming the meta could shift to some other sets anyhow. Also, not sure how it synergizes with monster sets outside of help iceheart proc more consistently since they can't crit, and honestly if you have a 50-60 crit rate with MA, iceheart should still proc as often.

If you are going to extend length you have to offset the increased DPS somewhere.

For example, change the "all hits are critical hits" part to, I don't know, "+30% crit rate". Or, alternatively, lengthen the proc cooldown (so 5 seconds goes to 8 seconds of 100% crits, but then 13+x seconds of cooldown and I'm too tired to run the maths on this right now). Maybe there is another way, but my brain is a bit fried at the moment.

In other words, you cannot suggest a change that buffs the DPS over a 1-minute block on a set that already has pretty bloody decent DPS over a 1-minute block (except for high crit rate situations where extra damage does more than extra crit).

The same applies for any set. E.g. Hundings - you can't just say, oh, make the 5-piece bonus +399 vs. +299 weapon damage. Ok, and what are you taking away to offset that?

Thematically speaking, I actually would be interested in changing MA from guaranteed crits in a short window to higher crits in a long window - but that would just make it like Leviathan or something. And that would just be boring...

What I would really like to change is the stupid visual effect for the proc. Rather than have the screen go semi-blurry, I don't know, make a glow effect around the edges of a screen. Or something that does not make one wonder if one is a) drunk; b) having a seizure; c) both.

I've yet to bother golding mine out, because let's face it, it's going to be hit with the nerf bat due to it 'over performing'.
