Gold jewelry being able to be made easily would devalue the current gold jewelry available in trials and in the gold vendor which already are for high prices. Doing this would help keep gold jewelry prices high and wouldn't cause the current gold jewelry market to crash. Seeing as the stat difference in purple and gold jewelery is already minimal, paying the extra costs wouldn't really put the average player at a huge disadvantage anyways.
Why buy a gold vendor jewelery for a large sum of money when you can easily craft a jewelery for less gold than that?

I'm saying you can already upgrade blue trial armor that drops from normal to gold, you could get around that pointless restriction you mentioned by crafting gold hundings jewelery17 -

Upgrading should be limited entirely to crafted jewellery. In fact it'd be great if the only way to get gold mats for the upgrades is by deconning gold jewellery, make people run vet trials more.0 -

high prices what? the prices of jewels are limited to the amount of gold or ap at an npc vendor. be happy some people sell them weeks or months later, when u didnt grab them right time. golden jewelry is highly limited anyways and since trial jewels are bop u cant sell them anyways. not to mention pvp jewels, which mainly is cheap af.
