Anyone else have trouble getting pledges done?

it seems impossible for a dps character to get their pledges done, normal or veteran. pugging treats you to a 5 hour long wait, which no one in their right mind is going to bother with, and asking in zone and guild chats is generaly met with silence. How do you get these damn things done on a regular basis? is it even possible?
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

    Dps is forever taking

    Tank is about 3 min.

I now always keep 1 character as a tank for more serious PvEing

I don't mean to sound like an ass, but perhaps time to get a new guild.

I am a member of 3 social guilds, 2 of which have traders, 1 is a PvP guild and I can always find someone to do these with.

If it is one of the easier dungeons, I just solo it while in the queue. Can be done with the solo run before the queue hits. And if the queue hits while I am in the dungeon, I'll ignore it if I am nearly finished, or accept it if I am at the beginning or middle.

Really, the key is to do something else while you wait. Whether that is gear farming, fishing, or soloing content. Just something to do that passes the time. And then if the queue never pops, at least you did something productive with the time.

Thing is my guilds are nice and all, and I like the people, they just never seem to run pledges when I need them done.

It could be worth trying to get a regular group of friends or players in a similar situation together for these if you main a DPS.

If the queue takes more than 15 minutes I just queue again and generally I will get in within a few minutes. I'm pretty sure there's a bug that puts you in a dummy queue.

My friends seem to all end up being people who dont care about pledges or spend all their time making new characters and never see 50. I feel like the only one who is remotely interested in endgame, but unfortunately those people who just RP and dont care about endgame tend to be the nicest and most friend worthy in my experience. I wish I knew more people who were interested in everything a game had to offer like me.

Have you tried joining a PvE/Dailies focused guild? There are quite a few guilds who have no commitment requirements and just serve as a place to set up pre-made dailies groups.

Check out the guild forums section for your format/server. You can either browse for one or make a thread looking for one.
Alternatively looking out in zone chat (more common on PC) for guilds recruiting for such a thing, or asking for one in zone chat.
The other option is starting a guild up yourself with this being the key goal. If you're on PC EU I can recommend Unholy Legacy as a casual guild which often has people run dailies and ask for members from chat.

A friend of mine tanks and I heal. We have been trying to build up our friends list with dps that want to run the DLC dungeons and get all the achievements on.

We do have the good fortune of being able to pop a dungeon queue and nearly always get an immediate pop with two dps. Sometimes they are horrid and we have to do a carry, but once in awhile we end up with on point DPS that we can friend at the end to run with in the future.

Our only downside is that we run 5am eastern to around 10am eastern on PC NA servers, so sometimes pretty slim pickings. If you are on our server and run at our times, feel free to look me up in game or send me a message mail. My at name is the same as my forum handle.

I said it before, and I'll say it again...

    THIS GAME NEEDS DUAL SPECIALIZATION!

Me, I don't mind tanking. But I also need to DPS on my main, for things like vMA, quick shard farming, PvP, etc. I can't be tank 24/7, because tanks are only good for one thing. Give the the ability to quickly swap from tank to DPS or to heal, and I'll fill those roles, and speed up the queue.

But nooooo, that's too sensible for ZOS to do. They'd rather waste time on the outfit system, and meanwhile people are dealing with insanely long queues, fake tanks/healers (people who try to game the queue, because it is unreasonably long), etc.

Well I have a healer main and I have a tank but I wont solo queue in group finder. Why? because the majority of dds here are just horribad (not all of course, but many of them are). Sometimes I level alts in random normals, and even if queued as a tank or healer, I still do 50%+ dps. Sometimes even 80%+.
I'm pretty sure thate's one of the reasons why theres not enough tanks and healers in group finder.

We wouldn't need dual spec if people played it as a social game and actively looked for and joined guilds where they can make new friends to do content with.
However everyone wants to be "solo" but also do "group" content.

Of course. Being able to play Solo when you want to is a core element of a good MMO and one of the biggest draws of ESO in the first place. But people like grouping too. I know this may come as a huge surprise but it's possible to like both and want to do both with characters you like.

What do you mean exactly? Do you mean something like AlphaGear where you can quickly change your gear/skills?

Or are you also talking about changing CP and morphs on the fly?

Because for a lot of the content, you can change from Tank/Healer to DPS and back by just changing skills and gear.

Yeah, and i even belong to two guilds that promise to help you get pledges does and recently left a 3rd that did so to, Why? Mainly because people in these guilds find the people they like to group with and just group with them and ignore the rest of us.

I have no great insight into how ot fix the issue with group finder. I more or less avoid pledges on my dps toons, just try to do Bolrug's delve daily and jump in when someone else's group loses a dps. It's slim picking, indeed.

On my healers and tanks it's always a gamble of Will I get a decent group, or a group with a fake healer/tank and I as the real healer or tank ends up having to do 300% more work just because some doofus dps queued as healer or tank with no appreciation as to why there are these roles in the first place? The other day I found myself as a healer in vSelenes, and having to dps the boss, heal and dodge roll over and over while the other 3 people took turns dying and rezzing all because some pvp DW/2H dude with no taunt queued as a tank. He ignored my pleas for him to tank the final boss, and in the end another dps was like "Hey we finished so it's all good" Yeah, easy for you dps to say when you spend half the fight dead, leaving the healer or tank to do your job for you and you still get to walk away with a completed pledge, keys and a monster helm. it's one thing if people are still learning how to play this game, but this sort of thing in a VET dungeon is just BS. I wish things were easier for dps (I play dps too so I'm in this boat as well), but ***, guys, don't deal with it like this. It makes me wonder if the reason why groups have a hard time finding tanks and healers because so many tanks and healers are fed up with this BS too and stay away from pledges as much as they can. I know once I get my undaunted passives on my tanks and healers, I'm done myself.
