Locked Dye preview is essential to the outfit system

For so long we have wondered if that one dye is worth grinding an achievement for with a chance at disappointment but with the outfit system there seems to be no sign of this. We have a lockedmotif preview system and we can preview locked dyes only if from a dye stamp but no individual dye preview for locked dyes... please dos make locked dyes previewable and also make seasonal dyes permanently unlockable for us.

I can see PvP dyes fine on my regular character copies.
But when we don't have character copies, we can't test the full functionality of the system if no dyes are unlocked on the templates.
They have them all unlocked on the Developer's Server on ESO Live ... should be an easy fix for PTS.

RandomSilliness✭✭✭I have to agree, and I have long wondered why this was not already in the game.
One more thing I would like to see in the dye preview window (and especially the character creation screen) is a button that cycles through ~10 predefined lighting environments (mid day sun, mid-day shade, sunset, fire-lit night, dark cavern, etc), so you can get a decent idea of the real color before committing. That is particularly important where substantial time (char creation) and or currency is involved.

✭Yes, it would be useful and convenient, some time ago I had to go around the map chasing any sort of mobs to get some of the monster collectors dyes and while some of the dyes are totally worthy, others... let's say I could have spent that time doing something else, if you don't get lucky with the drops it can be very time-consuming.
Now I wonder if it's worth to do a clusterf*ck of quests to get the factions hero dyes, that's definitely a lot of time to spend doing a ton of quests. Moreover I should get back to IC to kill 2 district monsters I have left, that brown shade seems nice but could be totally crap on my favorite costumes. So yes, it would be nice to have a preview.

Failing that, an all-dye unlock function as a part of PTS template character crate unlocks, like the costume crate.1 -
