✭✭About a designated dueling spot, there is one. Hammerdeath Arena. If ZOS would make that a desirable space, you might see duel oriented people gather there. It needs a wayshrine at the very enterance. It needs a banker a merchant and crafting tables. It needs an undaunted enclave and maybe even crafting writ pick ups and turn in. People duel in cities because that is where they need to be to do all their other things.PC/EU DC3 -

If you have been a gamer for any amount of time, you should know already, that even if if they had made the kids as likeable as possible, there would some gamers screaming to be allowed to kill them. Hell, we'd probably have bot trains murdering them.

✭A lot of vestiges have this problem when coming back to Tam. Sometimes the baller nibbles a bit on your soul while he has it and he eats that part of you that can see the children. Some of us don't suffer from that and can see them just fine. I had a buddy who was a vestige too, and he had this crazy idea we weren't in tamriel at all, and in fact were just in some level of the shivering isles and this whole thing was just a big joke of Sheo's. I mean it was a good theory, and could explain the absence of children but he didn't know some of us can see them, and "interact" with them.
I guess it's a lot like what some of the natives of America experienced when they first saw western ships, they couldn't comprehend them and so to they simply filtered them from their minds. I hear that part of the soul never really grows back, so just learn to cope with it, and keep on being a HERO.“Whatever.”

JJBoomer✭✭✭✭✭I've noticed this too, and out of all the things in this game, the lack of children anywhere in the game is what breaks the immersion for me.
Templar vampires? ?yeah I can buy that and come up with headcanons as to why.
but no children...anywhere? when we know NPC's have relationships and are doing...things...in their lives...yeah, that is the most immersion breaking thing.
Even if something happened that made everyone sterile, no pre-existing children. So yeah. it does kind of bother me. Child npc's don't even need to be interactive. But their presence would make the in-game world seem way more real.2 -

Code the kids to seem overtly attackable, but auto-dodge any attack if someone tries and scream their head off for the guard, giving you a huge bit of bounty and spawning two guards who pile on you right away.

Heck, I can see argonians and bosmer squatting behins the bushes, orcs going on a bucket and khajiit in a litter box, but there should be nord and breton outhouses, and the imperials and "oh so proud of their civilized ways" altmer and dunmer at least should have roman-empire style plumbing...0 -
crashen17b14_ESO✭✭✭The soulburst happened what, 20 years ago? When that happened, it screwed up the dreamsleeve and recycling of souls. No children have since been born. Everyone who was a child has grown up. On top of that, the Knhatan Flu swept thorough Tamriel and decimated most populations.
Lots of people probably lost children, and couldnt cope so they kept the cradles and toys, hoping to hear the laughter of children again. But as each year went by with no one becoming pregnant, everyone getting older, people looked away.
Rather than acknowledge the grim truth of a world without children, they ignore it. They choose to not think about that essential piece of life now missing. Nihilism sets in. There is no future, not really. Why not join that army and try to forge a legacy not in a bloodline of lineage, but in a line of blood spilled with a blade? No new life is being created, so why not join that death cult and raise the dead? Nothing matters, no one will live long enough to judge you.
The world is ending after all, there is no future and no tomorrow. If not at the hands of a daedric prince, then simple infertility and extinction.
At least, thats my theory on why there are no children.1 -

✭✭✭✭✭A dueling area could bring highlight to under used areas. Have separate leadboard for each arena. Give ability to watch it with maybe schedules and stuff. Obviously make it a gold sink or give passes to watch
People can learn from watching. Potentially leading into esports show. This could lead selling new products. Of course will all lead to more popular game.

I am sorry you are troubled when there is no need to be. You are reading more into the post than it's intent, which truthfully disturbs me.
I have a autistic son who is brilliant and taking a game design class. We had discussed what make s a good game, one of which is making a world a believable place, referred to as immersion. I was using examples from the game and it came to light that all children of the NPC's seem to be grown. There is little explanation within the game as to why this is and so it breaks that illusion that this is a believable world.
I started thinking why would this be the case. It's been mentioned that there are is planemeld, deadra and such but still the major cities would have more evidence of them as that is the safest place. As I was crafting and had my 15th attempt to invite me to duel and having the waves of lag spikes in Vivec City, it was clear what could pose a danger to the NPC's.
I am a advocate of adding dueling to the Justice system to free up the lag in the cities. I also know that to do so there has to be something given to those that wish to Duel. So I offered up a suggestion of where to shift it and some game enhancing features as well. There has not been any enhancements to the game for Dueling while the player base and interests have expanded.
I doing my post I wanted to walk the reader through the process of how it came to light. I did so with the lighthearted opening, then pointed out an explanation why this might be the case. If nothing is developed, it might help people with immersion to explain want our minds find missing.

Yes, this could expand interests in the game. I don't remember if dueling has been since launch, at the least it has not changed since introduction. It is hard for Dev's to predict what the player base wants in a game or how they use what is provided. Player interests and needs have expanded. It is time that the base game expands to meet those needs as well.0
