You can put down the controller. You can go outside. You can get perspective. I am counting 1 day without ESO (ha ha).
01. I didn't succumb to the login mechanic of mount training (requiring 180 days; 6 months; not account wide). Eventhough, I have one mount nearly maxed with 60 speed, 60 bag space, and about 50 stamina.
02. I didn't spend hours farming a dolmen for a set of purple jewelry.
03. I didn't spend hours farming raw materials in hopes refining would net me epic and legendary mats.
04. I didn't spend hours rummaging through containers searching for elusive motifs.
05. I didn't engage in various daily activities in hopes I would be granted a motif page or complete motif book.
06. I didn't spend hours in activity finder hoping I might be grouped with other players to engage in an otherwise 20 - 30 minute adventure.
07. I didn't spend endless hours in Cyrodiil galloping across the terrain from one keep to the next in a game of musical capture.
08. I didn't spend endless hours killing the same grouped mobs in Imperial City to gain enough fragments to combine into a key for chests secured in trophy rooms.
09. I didn't spend 30 minutes or more logging in and out of characters to complete writs.
10. I wasn't a good little hobbit and picked every mushroom encountered.
11. I didn't spend hours in a public dungeon running the same lap over and over.
I spent the day free of ESO. I count 1 Day.

I’m sleeping better, more disciplined, exercising more, etc. Not just because of being ESO free but computer free. Personal digital technology is a lot worse for humans than we like to think. Not all bad, but certainly not all good.2013

I don't resist it. I buy what appeals to me. Still cheap considering I don't go out drinking/partying, don't buy a lot of clothes/shoes etc.

and sure I went binging in cyrodiil countless hours.. but I just wanted to be the Emporer ! but still await for it to be my time.

I quit for a good year and a half and boy was I productive. My other love is music and I wrote a ton of new material. Practiced my instrument of choice and got much better at it. The laundry and dishes were always done in a timely fashion and the house was clean.
Now I relapsed and the garage and yard need some love. I haven't been writing any new material musically and I hardly practice any instruments anymore.
I go through phases, I'm aware of all the time I spend playing ESO and do not regret it. But it can't go on much longer like this so eventually will have to take another break to get caught up on real world stuff.

01. I didn't spend time agonizing over what color my boots should be.
02. I didn't spend time stalking helpless NPCs, picking their pockets, and ending their short lives with the Blade of Woe.
03. I didn't hear that female Orc cry out for the thousandth time, "There you are. I've been looking all over for you."
04. I didn't spend hours running in circles outside of Riften trying to solve the lion population issue.
05. I didn't spend hours rummaging through desks, cabinets, and dressers hoping to find epic recipes.
06. I didn't spend time picking through every barrel and crate I came across.
07. I didn't waste time in Clockwork City trying to rid it of it's mechanical rodents
08. I didn't run a random errand for a crow too lazy to do it himself.
09. I didn't spend time in Zone chat linking items nobody wants. By the way, WTS [Carapace]
10. I didn't spend time chasing down Treasure Maps in various locations that lead to nothing of true value. "Oh, cool. Something else I can deconstruct."
I did, however, rediscover Netflix and watched a couple of movies: Wind River and Pirates of Somalia. Al Pacino has a small part in Pirates of Somalia. Did you know that? KRBMMO✭✭✭✭Remember you cannot do it alone - you need to recognize the need to request the aid of a higher power (such as Vivec) to help you overcome your addiction.
I myself developed a "popping" in the main knuckle of my left middle finger so I'm off of any game using WASD controls. I read up on it and the condition requires minor surgery if it doesn't get better with resting it. Now I just drop by for a few laughs now and again.0
