    2 are without cp in the red tree, BUT with an actual build and the 30k one is with an actual build and cp in the red tree. No monster set should do that

    First off, how are you getting hit 8 times by zaan? Did the other guy have elf bane?

    Zaan only procs 6 times (it deals damage over 5 seconds, with an initial proc tick to the best of my knowledge). When the proc occurs, it's 3440 damage (obviously buffed by fire damage CP), then 1s: 5160, 2s: 7740, 3s: 11610, 4s: 17415, 5s: 26122.

    Base total damage before champion points or mitigation is 71,487 over 5 seconds, but obviously nobody is running 0% damage reduction. The damage can also be blocked to cut it in half.

    The only way someone is getting 8 hits in is with elf bane, which is a very specialized build focused entirely on making that zaan proc useful, which means they shouldnt be putting up much of a fight without it.

    Dodge away to cancel the proc, preferrably after using some kind of CC, and then you have 18 seconds to deal with the enemy without a zaan proc to worry about.

    Zaan is empowered by soul harvest and to get hit by the 65k we had the person who's a magplar remove all cp from his red tree. Its not a realistic scenario but no monster set should hit that hard. The 30k is on a legit build though and dodge rolling doesn't work against people who can close the distance and stay on top of you. Thats such stupid argument and not a good counter.

    Furthermore with the l2 meta you can't burst people in 18secs. not on console anyway. i understand pc doesn't have this issue

    Source on 4x damage. Unless you are comparing 20k zaan proc on a bad over 6s (+cd) to a 5k skoria.

    wtf is that video?! after he CC'ed you he runs straight towards and not the other way around! ofc zaan will kill him that way, he didnt even attempt to run away from it, he has all the chance!!

    You're missing the point of the video. The templar ONLY hit him with entropy and vamps bane and thats it and Zaan did the rest. NO set should be able to kill a player on its own good or bad. A small boost to burst, fine, but no a single proc from a set should not deal that much damage.

    no, a simple set like zaan couldnt kill anyone if they know the mechanics on how to avoid it! wheres the fun on a duel with justa straigh up spammin skills and minding resources at least zaan is a double edge sword ffs! that guy cc'ed the templar, he has all the chance to break the proc but NOOOO!! he get too greedy! i would welcome zaan as a proc set better than viper and other proc set in the past coz unlike zaan those proc sets doesnt give you a chance to be countered!

    as you can u see in the video, you can CC'ed the damn ***, immobolize it. then run away thats it, he will be hopeless for the next 18 sec. dont mindlessly use your skills

    I run heavy armor. My death recap usually show skills hitting for around 2-3 k DPS.

    In same set-up Zaan hit me yesterday for 10 and 12k DPS 2 times in a row.

    DawnBreaker or SoulAssault can hit hard. Should not happen with a 2 pieces set.

    I dondt have zaan (yet) but ill try to get it asap, just because pople dont know what to do, its something new and folks need a little to adopt. After that ill go back to my old good bloodspawn.
    Yesterday i was playing bgs alot and 90% of times i got killed by zaan, i could have prevent it, but was mistake on my end

    Well.. Got hit by one finally. Not that it is something to praise about. It wasn't 2k, I can tell you that. For me, it was in a group fighting. You know.. one of those where there are at least 1000 enemy players in front of you and about 5-10 friendlies with you (practically how PvP in PS4 has been.)     Ha ha.. Well, not only are we have to watch out for those suicide bombers (practically every mag- based toons are sporting that now), we also have to watch out for those Zaan thing as well. Fun times.. Also, for a melee toon, 10 meter is big. You have to get in close and personal fighting. Those range toons will fair better, or those with the like of Annulment and good healing capability should be able to mitigate it. However, just like Lethal Arrows, Ice Comet or the likes of Eye of the Flame, when you don't know where it is coming from, you can't really mitigate it readily; thus, the damage is far more brutal. Hey, whatever, rez at keep and press repeat.

    Dude. People will say and do anything to get things nerfed that kills them. I’ve pretty much given up trying to explain the huge amounts of counter play that Zaan has. If people want to truly believe that Zaan is this overpowered set, let them. I just hope the devs aren’t stupid enough to follow behind a lot of these potatoes, and end-up nerfing something due to other people’s refusal to play intelligently.

    And telling someone to “get out of range” is probably the most auto pilot *** ive ever heard. DUH! TF you think we are, blind and dumb?

    What makes it broken, in addition to its extreme damage, is that in most senarios you cant break the beam as easily as most of you let on. There are too many abilities witch prevent you from creating a gap in this game. CCs, roots, snares, gap closers. Not to metion that 10 meters is actually a fairly large range. Cut it down to 6 meters then this particular argument is valid.

    AND IF ONE MORE PERSON SAYS PURGE IT LIKE YOU CAN HAND PICK THE DEBUFFS. *facepalm*

    Such a lame and flimsy argument. Im tired of it.

    No! Efficient purge is not good, not by any stretch, and its most definitely not efficient. Only purging 2 random effects and costing well over 4k magic.

    The highest I've seen for Zaan on my death recap has been 8k and once again it wasn't the killing blow...


    Every time I've had it proc'ed against me, the following tactics have been successful against it:

    1) Cleanse it...

    2) Dodge Roll + Elusive Mist and break the tether...

    3) Activate Devouring Swarm and overwhelm the Zaan user...

    4) Heal right though it...


    But to each his own...

    Based on what I've seen and experienced from it, its not replacing Mighty Chudan in my current build...

    For me, Zaan has yet to yield the killing blow against me...

    The highest I've seen for Zaan on my death recap has been 8k and once again it wasn't the killing blow...

    And which of those counters would you recommend on a medium dk for example? I mean healing through Zaan on its own is definitely possible most of the time, however, healing through Zaan and whatever combo players are landing during its proc is not possible.

    I've seen Zaan all of 4 times in PvP and NEVER have I died to it. I break the tether instantly with cloak and don't have to worry about it for another 18 seconds. It's completely L2P and those that don't learn, die to it. It's not like classes don't have some counter to it one way or another.

    Templars Javelin the person away, Purge it or heal thru it, DK can just root/fossilize and get away, Sorcs streak away or shield up, NB can cloak it off or fear to get away, Warden technically can purge it with Blue Betty (it's sort of up to RNGesus at that point) and if that doesn't work, heal thru it.

    Show me a GOOD player(s) that are constantly being destroyed by Zaan and maybe I'll concede it needs adjustments but I personally don't see Zaan as a problem so much as I see free AP from bad players being bad (Or lag issues but that's a ZOS server problem more often than not).

    If that DK isn't using any CC, they deserve to die. I've seen StamDKs use Stonefist for the knockdown + Helping Hands passive so it's not like they're totally helpless. Then there's also Dizzy Swing (albeit less reliable a CC) that can still create some distance to break Zaan, if it connects.

    I guess it depends on your class and build how to best counter it...

    I've straight up overpowered a Zaan Proc + Soul Assault with my Purifying Light/Devouring Swarm/Puncturing Sweeps combo on my Magicka Templar...

    I'm not sure what you should do on your DK unfortunately if you aren't using CC's...

    Yes theres dizzy swing which any good dk will be using. You play console though? Its not hard to pop immovable pot when zaan procs. Or its against an L2 build and dizzy swing becomes useless. Zaan should be interruptible.

    Here's an idea, take out all skills and armour in cry-odiil. So everyones naked and can only light and heavy attack with fists.... Then it'll be even
