    Pet ownership comes with responsibilties.

    I run a high level magsorc with Spike the clannfear and Drusilla the matriarch. This character is designed from the ground up to solo world bosses and she is very good at what she does. She does not want any help when fighting WBs since 'help' simply causes Spike to lose aggro and Drusilla's heals to go to other players instead of Spike.

    Because of the pets, she will not group with randoms. Only with friends who either embrace the pets or she reslots other skills instead of the pets - depending upon what whoever is tanking for the group prefers.

    When she heads to town, she unsummons her pets so they are not in her (or anyone else's) way.

    What I would appreciate to encourage more of us pet owners to dump the pets for in town would be a single mappable 'dispel all summons' key. That would make unsummoning them notably less cumbersome than opening the character menu and deselecting each of them from the active effects list.

    I put my combat pet away when im in town. He not only annoys you, but sometimes he annoys me when im trying click on weird shaped and yet so small interaction areas. I have non combat pets as well. For the same reason, you will never see me with one out. All of mine were free and they are now permanent residents in my homes.

    I even hate running dungeons with someone who has a winged twilight( i also use one) because the damn thing is always in my face blocking my view. Couldnt it be torchbug size or something? Maybe a wisp?

    @ZOS

    QOL request: Two options to turn off pets. One check box for hide all non combat pets and a second check box to hide all combat pets. Check both and you will never see a pet. Oh think of the FPS improvement. Thats probably worth another 10 FPS at least in towns.

    One of the reasons I don't use twilight on my sorcerer - it's annoying intrusiveness. It would be nice to have it's healing abilities on familiar instead.

    Or re-make the twilight into something not so much oppressively large. Like this bone dragon pet, which is flying only when moving, but holds to the ground when player stops.

    I think the winged twilight is too large. It should also be easier to 'hide' pets rather than putting them away and forgetting to summon them again - which is something I always forget.

    I've only ever used the sorc's clannfear and the warden's feral guardian and putting them away when I am clearing inventory between dungeons is just a pain to me when I know I'll need them again in 2 minutes.

    To me, bankers and merchants are different, you bring them out, use them and put them away. There is no reason for one of these to be travelling through a dungeon with you.

    You think we -want- to use those pets? Bring on spellcrafting... or account-bound achievements (so I can main something else without restarting 4 years of effort).

    To anyone with pets: Murder them all, they annoy everyone to no end...especially us tanks, nothing messes up ad stacking more than that stupid scamp always stunning mobs...the twighlight is almost as bad....the clannfear is least annoying, but still manages to aggro things and tank them on the opposite side of the room. DOWN WITH ALL PETS, and merchants/banker for that matter...kill everything!

    Why would you try to fight a pet for aggro? You realize the clannfear is basically built to tank right? Let it tank. There is no reason for you try to steal aggro from a pet unless your on a boss that has mechanics that require you to hold it somewhere or lead it somewhere in which case it might be an issue but you should still be able to keep aggro on a single mob over an autoattack pet.

    My clannfear can probably tank better than you can. That thing never dies and i can heal it and me both with the press of a button. It adds a decent amount to my dps as well.

    Having other players in a MMO. Outrageous. I’d take Twilights over RPers in /zone any day.

    @Feanor

    I am intrigued? Could you elaborate? RPers are worse than battle pets? ;)

    Twilights don’t talk. They don’t make stupid allusions or sexual innuendos. I’m used to my Twilight. It has been a faithful companion. RPers can’t claim the same. Bar shutting down zone chat you really can’t escape from RPers. It’s easy to escape from Twilights.

    Good luck, hasn't changed in 4 years.
    Need to make those Twilights smaller or time out when afk.

    Or invisible to everyone but the owner.

    Suggestion to devs: let summons appear only during a combat, like they are prepared to fight right from the Oblivion, when player place them on the bar.

    I also want to add, that almost all summons look ridiculous, when chasing mounted master. Galloping scamp? Eight Divines, save us...

    Actually there are two QoL that would go a long way to solve things.

    1) Combat Pets be automatically stored when you access, Bank, Vendor, Craft Station, Writ Turn in Box. There is no reason for a combat Pet to be out when you are doing these functions.

    2) The Merchant and Banker pets be automatically stored when you are in combat. They do not assist you the combat and want to head to the hills for a safe location.

    make these two changes and it solves the issues that come up for other players.

    Alone its ok, if many fish at same place like during new life event its annoying.
    Always put away twilight then not using it as I only use it for healing, the scamp I keep up as its not annoying.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    But you can edit your chat to turn off various chat streams, thus giving you the ability to hide the RP conversations. You cannot do the same with pets.

    I personally stow the pets (thank goodness for PC addons) when I am in cities, but I do feel a little bad if I happen to have a longer loading screen when travelling for a quest which may have me standing motionless with pets at the other end for other players. I do think there should be an option to hide battle pets at least, because the Twilight can get very annoying. I've mostly stopped using it because it even annoys me when I play.

    I can understand not having the ability to hide cosmetic pets, because people wouldn't buy them if they couldn't show them off. But those are a little less obtrusive than the giant flying Twilight anyway.
