Draining Battery Extremely Fast

ProfessorSophie
There is an issue when logging into the game and playing, it starts draining my battery by 1% in under a minute. Battery on PC works fine when not logged into game. Tried on another MMORPG, no problems. Only happens when logged into ESO. It makes it unplayable. Warning that my battery is low keeps popping up, that I can turn off. But, the fact that it went from 12% to 7% in one minute, is not cool. Have tried it multiple times, does it every time, I get past the character loading and I log into the game.

    Use cable while playing

Lol, I am using my cable, it is plugged into the wall and charging. I have excellent battery life any other time. It is only doing it when I log into the game. I tried it on another MMROPG and I am not having any problems. As soon as I get into the Prison tutorial however, my battery starts draining extremely fast.

No way should a piece of software drastically affect how rapidly you burn power under normal conditions.

Try running on the lowest possible graphics settings. It's possible that the game is making such high demands on your laptop that it's running hot and might be close to failing.
It sounds to me like you have a hardware problem.
'Clever' sigs get old real fast - just like this one.

Maybe you have weak laptop and it needs to run harder to keep game running, that also increases battery drain

And you don't need to use battery if you use cable, just remove battery to save its life cycle
  • ProfessorSophie
Thank you, I am going to try removing the battery while playing, it's just weird, because I beta tested and never had a problem. For right now I will just lower my settings and remove my battery.

Something is still fishy though, like I said, no problems on another MMORPG, plus I did beta 4 times, no problems.

I am also running this on Acer Aspire V3 and a Nvidia GeForce GT 730M, so certainly not top of the line for gaming, but not bottom of the line either. Thank you for suggestions.

If the other MMORPG you're speaking of is WoW, their requirements are a lot less, that could be it.
