I hate this new blocking indicator

    What is the reason for the new block animation/icon? Does anyone here know?

    Is it for better PVP visibility? What is it for?

    This is quite a necro. I think this was added so that you can see if someone is blocking while using a skill. Instant skills will still play their animation, so the blocking animation is overridden. They are still blocking as long as the skill doesn't have a cast time, and this ugly visual indicates that.

    This is what happens when people use the search feature to avoid getting shamed for posting a duplicate thread.

    But it would be nice if there was a toggle. "Block indicators: On/Off"

    This is one of those examples were ZOS made a change, no one liked it, but ZOS implemented it anyways. I know Gina has already said that they listen to our feedback, and they do care, but stuff like this makes it hard to believe. This was before developer notes so maybe if they stated why they ignored our feedback we would have a better understanding.

    I agree strongly that there need to be a shield-indicator (On/Off) option somewhere in the settings. Just a way to turn it off when you want more immersion while playing. (If someone wants to keep it on by default because it feels like it helps them, sure, but for the rest of us, we do not need it.)

    There's already this for most other immersion breaking effects, but I believe you need to be able to hide the default shield indicator too, even in third person, since I have tried to figure out if it actually helps me or the group.

    It does not seem to help, just annoy us slightly each time someone blocks (Which you can also clearly see by the animation.)
