eu sever and usa sever help

so i am a form england but i have friends in the eu and usa that i wont to play most game would have a simple small patch to switch between the meger sever but no no ESO does not your tell me i have to have 2 serprot clients of 60GB on my pc just to play with all my friend i sorry but (insert rage mode hear) if i am missing something plese tell me as now ihave to fined space for the second game client just to play with my friends i am a little pissed as being able to switch between meger sever with as little stress should be a day one pat of any AAAMMO in my eyes as you kneow WWW means the world i knoew that they have to split the sever for lag and cos resone but come on

ps if this is in the wrong thread pleas move it

I feel your pain. The good news is that you don't need 60GB x2, it's just for extraction and installation - each folder ends up ~30 GB. Still way too much for what should be a simple switch.

People used the copy-rename-update method to avoid downloading everything twice, but it didn't work for me last time. Not sure why.

well thank you for a small bit of good news i meany space is simple just remved some stem games i dont paly anymore but it just something i would expect to be simple for a game of this size not being tick me off a bit hope my post was not rude or anything

I did raise this question with EU support 2 days ago and their reply was to the effect you only need one single client fully patched up to date with the latest launcher. All you need to do then is just change the Megaserver in the launcher settings to change servers.

However a couple of ‘notes’ about that, any characters created on each server remain on that server and are not transferred when you change (yes you can have a total of 16 using both servers). Also you may have to create a new desktop shortcut to just point to the launcher and not specify the EU server like we had to do for the beta.

Except when I did it, it started downloading everything again. I now have two almost identical folders.

Well I must admit I did wonder at their reply because during the Beta testing I ended up with two clients one for EU and one for the NA Megaservers. But all I did was copy the full client in my EU folder to a new folder that the launcher had created, and after a bit of messing about by the launcher it decided everything was fine and I was able to switch whenever I needed.

I can’t log in until Tuesday as I don’t have the 5 day access only 3 days so I’ll have to wait until then to see if the support idea works. Sorry if my reply has confused anyone but I could only go on what support told me.

The "switch it in the launcher settings" is not until "launch" is what I was told. It isn't even IN my launcher settings. I've been forced to download both server clients three times each now, just to play with friends on both continents. When I logged into the EU server the first time, the launcher DELETED my NA client. Tonight I try to return to the NA servers and it's insisting on downloading again...even though my folder is intact (I moved it so the EU launcher couldn't eat it this time. lol)
