The thing is with a class is that you then lose the strengths of other classes. But with a skill line, if its UP, you can leave it. If its OP, you can run it with your class skills.
This has much more chance of being P2W than say a race/class. Since it is a direct extra option.
If its for everyone. Sure. If not. Don't allow it before you get "Hey guys, here is a new gear slot you can get just for buying the DLC isn't it great?" Not imbalanced at all.
I am very suprised people can't draw the very visible line between pay to play vs microtransactions.
If Its gonna be locked behind a paywall, it is a clear pay to win scenario, just like warden, but warden is at least a class on its own, so a new skill line sounds dangerous. Especially if they're gonna lock it up behind a 40 bucks pay wall.
hows a skilline more p2w than warden when any class can pick up the skilline and utilize it? In fact id say its more convenient than rerolling into a new class that has the potential to be fotm and you end up losing all your achievements and such

wardens are bottom of the barrel in pve dps atleast magika and Templars and dragonknights are still preferred in trials over them... pvp they do work however but pvp is 10 percent of the game yet they cant be buffed for pve or pvpers will whine
Being bottom of the barrel to min-maxers does not make the class ruined. And the class has only existed in the game for 3 updates. With uncountable updates ahead of us. Nightblades at launch were ruined.
if you are completely at the bottom in the barrel in pve, why would they take your class over another one for trials? Dps wise...

I find these arguments so amusing. Wardens take seldom part in a competitive endgame Trials. That’s true. They are perfectly viable in any other setting though with being very strong in PvP.
Being strong in PvP doesn’t somehow count as much as being bad in competetive PvE raids. Even if the 10% PvP were true (it’s not, and only ZOS could say how much PvE/PvP players the game has) I’m very sure there is still more players in PvP than in competitive PvE raiding.
So no, Wardens are far from ruined. We get you just want another overpowered toy though.
Unsure what this threads about.
So an icon has been mined, and you assume there may be a class or skill line coming that you assume is going to be epic and OP but you assume people will whine about it being P2W and assume ZOS will listen and Nerf it thus assume by getting in as early as possible you assume you can stop these people moaning by telling them not too and assume that's enough to keep the Psijic introduction as awesome as you want it to be....
I'm assuming thats the jist?

"We get you just want another overpowered toy though." Far from it, I want them to be buffed so that they can be more competitive in trials, and everything is viable pretty much outside a competitive environment

Yes and that’s the point. You argue with numbers. But the 10% PvPers are somehow worth less than your 1% endgame raiders. Because that is what your argument boils down too. Besides, you can pull close to 50k on a Warden. Gotta be an exceptional player with the best gear though.

I apologize if I sounded rude when I said 10 percent of pvp players, but id love it if zos could buff it for pve without it affecting pvp but sadly zos refuses to separate balance.
So what if they do? How do you know ZOS adjusted Warden for balance rather than whine reactions?Unsure what this threads about.

Has the thought ever occurred to you that Warden was never meant for the endgame PvE DD role? The class trees only offer a total of 3 damage skills (birds, shalks, flies). Three!
Yes, ZOS has said the PvE DPS isn’t up to endgame par and has tried to increase the damage with changing a passive. I don’t think though that they themselves see Wardens as DDs. There are ways to buff PvE DPS that don’t effect PvP, mainly if you consider dots and the whole frost damage thing.
No its nothing like battlefront 2, its an seriously toned down version of that Blizzard did with the burning crusade over 10 years ago in an subscription game. They moved all end game to an new zone who you needed the expansion to enter.Ragnarock41 wrote: »Ragnarock41 wrote: »This has the possibility of being much more P2W than warden is.

I am very glad you asked.
Because by picking warden you pick a class, you sacrifice what others have in the process. Warden might be FOTM in PvP today, but they are already getting their nerfs and without sub assault and a few overtuned skills, *cough Shimmering Shield *cough warden is just an ordinary class. They don't have Dk leap or battle roar, they don't have cloak, they don't have negate, streak etc... warden is an unique new class. And I'm pretty sure nobody would salt about warden being OP , if zos didn't nerf stamDK and stamplar to make stamden feel ''unique''.
Its ZOS trying to force people into buying their ***, Its not wardens fault, Its ZOS's fault.
Anyways, back to my original point, a new skill line with new skills, new passives and etc will be possible to combine with ALL classes, you can have it on ANY class, without losing any power for it, and when you lock free power behind a pay wall, it becomes a microtransaction. The people who don't pay for it are unable to use it , which means they lack that power.
This is possibly much worse than what EA did with battlefront II, but Im pretty sure zos will get away with it because honestly nobody gives a damn about yet another unpopular MMO.
This makes sense, filling out gaps in class skills, now the pull will not be as good as the DK chain pull, heal will be worse than BoL and so on but it gives more options.Silver_Strider wrote: »Knowing ZOS, I expect the Psijic Order Skill Line to offer little more than some much needed QoL skills for classes to fulfill other roles more effectively.
A small burst heal
An AoE root
Some Magic to Stamina conversion skill
A chain pull.
Of course, these predictions are all just my theories based on little to no evidence but considering that ZOS wanted to try and make each class follow the system Warden has, with a DPS/Healer/Tank skill line and that ZOS hasn't been able to balance each class to perform these roles with their current skill lines, the next "best" (more like stupid) thing is to introduce a skill line that essentially nullifies the differences between classes.

The game has already been 'P2W' for a long time.
You argue that P2W would be purchasing vMA weapons from the crown store. But vMA weapons are already locked behind a paywall. You either sub or buy the DLC.
A lot of top tier gear is locked behind DLCs, with no other way of obtaining them than purchasing said DLC.
It will be no different if they decide to lock this skill line behind the new chapter.

Wow and ff lock classes races and new gear behind paywalls yet no one complains that they are p2w and are also mmos
