It's basically my 'meh' low-effort build that came from trying too hard at min-maxing.
Valkyn Skoria 2x 1med/1 light impen
Shacklebreaker 5x heavy, 3 impen with magicka enchant, 2 infused with tri-glyph enchant
3x Spinner's arcane jewelry, spell damage enchants
2x Spinner's precise swords, spell damage and magicka steal enchants
1x Spinner's powered resto staff, magicka steal enchant (5 pc bonus does not benefit heals right?)
Spell crit mundus, Witchmother's brew, Spell power pots
It's mostly for No-CP BGs. I wanted to check here first cause it's gonna cost a damn fortune. Any thoughts?

I play my magplar like @Kartalin tbh, sweeps has always been clunky, it either overperforms because you’re fighting pugs that try to tank it or underperforms because you’re fighting a good player that kites most of it

I was actually considering this first but figures the 5 pc of Spinner's would be wasted on SnB. Might switch back to that ide, thanks.

Spinner's would be somewhat beneficial on your back bar for when you have DOTs ticking but have to swap to heal/buff. Not a total waste anyway.
I actually went magicka again this patch to try some fun with Caluurion's Legacy + Slimecraw. Caluurion's is a cool set but doesn't proc on several key skills, total *** letdown. I tried a few more combos for shiggles but also fell back to Skoria/Shacklebreaker. Magplar is such a lame duck right now.
I‘m gonna do a „I give up“ magSorc build soon too. The build idea is running with a Nord Bath Towel and a Broom with only non-damage non-healing skills on my bars so I don’t hurt sensitive [insert QQ from other classes] feelings any longer and can finally be the free AP they crave.

You seem to have a good offensive build, but IMHO, you don't have enough defensive gear...
I'd think about trading atleast one of your sets for something to increase your survivability...

It under performs bc of lag more than anything. Jabs is too good for helping your small group los and burst to replace imo, especially if you're a support build.
Never been a fan of rattlecage. Easy buff to get.

I figured shackle plus heals is plenty survivability. My previous build had Pariah going and it has great manliness but really lacks sustain now in no CP.

And how much regen and spell power do you get on this build. Unbuffed

What would you suggest for a spammable if not sweeps or dark flare?

See, if you’re running small group support then lightning wall + force pulse is outright better than sweeps, imo. The aoe off balance that procs the 10% Exploiter bonus for your whole group, including yourself, which pushes force pulse damage to competitive amounts of damage overall while allowing you to maintain positioning that won’t get you easily focused and melted and its less taxing on your sustain, particularly for Dragon Bones where we get superior resource return on heavies against off balance targets.
I agree about rattlecage, I like SPC+Impreg+Pirate with 8 sturdy, 3x regen glyphs tri-food atro mundus and Asylum lightning staff for open world pseudo-support. You still proc burning light from blazing spear but you end up with two great damage mitigation tools. You have access to block as a means to turtle and access to major protection to make you quite tanky without block. You’ll sit at ~42k max magika and 15k+ stam and SPC is a very powerful buff for your group and yourself, overall the damage is really solid on a quite tanky setup. You can run it in light for bursty setups or in heavy if you find yourself getting focused hard and your group doesn’t NEED you to burst

I'd love too see some clips of elemental blockade in action , it didn't prove to be that great when i tried it as it wasn't procing offbalance much or reliably. Especially in fights where we weren't in a tower or flag in bgs. But with cp placement, 1 person can proc off balance for the group very easily. That does buff everyone vs that opponent right?
The thing i enjoy about magplar is class skills though. Using blockade and forcepulse would be my sorc play style. I play my magplar like a monk-knight hybrid. I wanna be in your face.
With aoe caps gone next update it'll be time to revamp outnumbered play for sure.

Charged frost staff with wall of elements back bar.
No points in destro staff first passive so I can block with stamina. The snare and almost guaranteed root with wall of elements due to charged trait makes sweeps very easy to hit.
I messed around with lightning staff and woe for more powerfull sweeps as well but for solo I prefer the frost back bar setup better.

Can you give a bit more of a detailed build? Are you in light armor? No CP? What enchant do you run with the charged trait? Thanks.

works great both solo and in small group.

Im in 5/1/1 Light. 3 sturdy rest impen.
Frost enchant on staff for the chilled debuff.
Chilled with charged trait is great with WOE since it will root people in the dot area and make sweeps easier to land.
For more tankability you could run it with pirate skeleton instead of valkyn. This is for cp campaign but I think it would work in no cp too.
WOE dot with valkyn and overwhelming proc will pressure opponents when you blockcasting heals on your frost staff bar which kinda solves the problem magtemps have with the transition from defense to offense.

Honestly with wiz and pirate skel, killing u require the effort of a whole bunch of enemy and u deal a good amount of dmg thanks to being in light armor
