I've had people in group in Vet Direfrost Keep final boss not breaking free, so she would heal up, heal up, all the time. After explaining several times that they had to break free while beamed but still not doing it, we eventually had to kick that person.

Some people just don't listen... I've never finished the Normal Engine Guardian with a pug as well. After countless of wipes they still never listen.

Oh tbf, Engine Guardian is my 2nd worst normie after CoHII - that can be a complete nightmare (Edit: sorry, sometimes forget that certain words are considered rude, we're considerably less fussy in the UK so don't have the same sort of cultural pressure to not say certain words - have edited my post!), and for a non-DLC normal includes some "grown-up" mechanics. You do not want to find yourself there fake-slotted for heals (was a group of friends doing a random norm just for xp etc, but still...)

I don’t believe this. Nobody can be that bad.

Usually followed by "Hey, y'all, watch this..."

OP, some people refuse to listen to advice or experience. When you run into a group like that, I wouldn't even wait for the kick.

Sounds like you stayed longer than you should have as it was.

Sometimes you have to leave a group to figure it out (or not) on their own.

    You can't fix stupid.

Zos needs to release dungeon mechanics every quarter. Give us 1 quarter to experience the mystery of new content. Then afterwards drop a tutorial for it. That way there's no excuse.

Zero chance it gets seen by any of these people anyway

Yeah... this is why I don't pug, I worry that I'll be the one to screw everything up, get everyone pi.. cheesed off at me, and ruin it for the others.

And since I don't know enough people to put together even a three person team, I tend to just run around and hit sabre cats with an axe.

It's really not that scary if that's all you're afraid of, just gotta communicate with your team. Seriously, #1 issue of pugs isn't even that players are subpar at their roles, it's that players refuse to communicate in order to improve whatsoever, either 100% ignoring any advice/instructions or cursing you for trying to give them advice. Read up on your preferred role some, pay attention to chat, don't let idiots/jerks get to you and off you go :) For smoother experience, join a friendly casual PvE guild.

    I miss mandatory subscriptions.

I paid $60 plus another $60 a year for Xbox Live bud.

When the game first came out eso was another 15$/month. Which is pretty common for games like this. Normally when games stick with this model the overall quality of the game is much better.

To be fair, there was no xbox version when the game first came out - they dropped the compulsory sub on PC because MS refused to drop the online fee for whatever xbox people pay to play multiplayer stuff, and Zeni couldn't very well release the game on xbox with a subscription and hope to sell many units whilst requiring people pay twice - one fee to Zeni and another to MS.

(and if anyone is saying they *had* to pay for both ESO sub and Xbox live, they are lying)

They tried to but everyone qq'd over it. They wouldnt need to sell as manynif everyone paid monthly fees. I could make jokes about gamers paying bills but meh.

No, they tried to negotiate it without anyone QQing - Sony agreed, MS didn't - because they wanted it released on all platforms with similar requirements, they dropped the sub. It's no more complicated than that.

What? FGII is literally one of the easiest dungeons to do since they nerfed the last boss(now she is just boring). As a tank(most of the time at least) I find pugs to have the hardest time with the boss that chains you down, you can only hope that she chains you as a tank instead of one of the DPS, because in pugs invariably one of the DPS doesnt do a lot of damage, and as a tank neither do you, so if you arent chained, then its going to be a long fight with a lot of rezzing.

It’s funny, FG2 is the last speed run dungeon I need for the akvari gold dye. Been trying to get a group for it since last summer. Not holding my breath.

But really. How do you guys get amberplasm skin, all these skins, new dungeon dyes and titles...and I can’t get a freaking speed run for one of the easiest dungeons, 2. Version anyways.

I guess anything that’s not stack and burn is too much in this game.

See ? When you take things lightly (as it should be in a game) they become funny rather than annoying. And yes, this situation is hilarious ;-) One day those "teammates" will probably realize their mistake and probably feel quite sorry ;-)
    Magdalina wrote: »
You said you actually explained mechanics to them but there're some chosen people that simply never listen.

Well, not saying that's OP's case since I wasn't there, but some people do an extremely bad job at "explaining" and do not realize it. A good explainer is like a good teacher : it's pretty rare. Some people will understand a mechanic just by watching a video, but most players require more details to actually understand. Many people use too many acronyms (AOE, CC, etc... ) which many unexperienced players won't understand. Some mechanics are quite complex and require more than 2 lines in the group chat. And there's the language barrier...

Also, many experienced players breeze through adds and/or skip them, when those group of adds are precisely meant to introduce new players to upcoming mechanics (Purifying lights in FH, portals in WGT, etc.)

TL/DR : sometimes people think they have explained, but they haven't.

There was a guy in my last pug who only had 11k health so I reminded him to check his food. His reply was "I don't do food".

So I asked him if he needed some, no response. He then proceeded to die on every boss fight because, well, 11k health. He was 329 CP too, so it's not like he was new.

This is why pugs are only done on normal.

I got kicked for not outputting enough DPS...as a Tank.
In Vet Fungal Grotto II, worked my butt off to keep enemies off of my team and because they can't DPS the final boss enough, they kick me, the TANK, in hopes of DPS.

Funny thing is the Minecraft kids love to stay full even if it serves them little purpose like they aren't doing combat at all. Maybe more people would eat if the health loss came from a debuff that said YOU ARE HUNGRY.

Funny thing - i've been extremely lucky with random normal PUGs even on the worst mechanically dungeons to run, and absolutely horrific with random Vet. Should know better than to queue in them, but still...
Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

If you get kicked from a group, you are too good for them anyway.

Not always. Sometimes a kick is warranted. I have done a few dungeons and trials where the people in question deserved a kick. And no, I wasn’t the group leader who kicked said people.

Perfect examples are Damage-Dealers who strictly use a bow in a trial, and light attack spam with Snipe every here and there. That in my opinion warranted the kick that they received. Or the people who call themselves tanking with dual-wield daggers and a restoration staff. That type of stuff deserves kicks, in my opinion.

I mean, let me ask you this. Would you feel comfortable in a trial with a healer who’s healing with a bow and 2H? Claiming that their Twilight (Sorcerer pet) and Vigor are strong enough to keep the group afloat? Would you REALLY feel comfortable in those situations, my guy?

My wife is a kind soul and a good player (healer) and decided to help 3 inexperienced people through vet RoM. She taught them all the mechanics throughout the entire dungeon, and she never moans at all. They ended up blaming her for not getting past last boss (even though the group dps was like 15k and they were running around like headless chickens away from all the heals). Even the fact that she is wearing Amberplasm skin isn't enough for them to think maybe it's their own fault. But nope, all 3 turned on her and accused her of 'using your bfs account' :dizzy:

Hopefully she never does anything like that again, some people are awful in this game. This is why I usually don't teach anyone anything unless I can see they're a nice person beforehand. But even then they can turn out to be nasty so for the most part I don't bother helping anyone. It's so much more relaxing to play selfishly, and only help people who really deserve it. Last week we did RoM with someone and got speed and HM for them, and decided to stay on to get them no death. Got it first try. Basically if you're nice, you may get nice things and help in return :p

I am constantly going into dungeons only to find a high CP fake tank that is just there to farm. As soon as they enter, they charge of into the dungeon, utterly ignorant to the other 3 players. They burn through all the mobs and mechanics just to get a fast run. Then the same people come on here and complain that new players don't have a grasp of dungeon mechanics.... go figure!!
Note: I'm not saying OP does this but it is happening a lot and it does contribute to the lack of understanding that newer players have for mechanics.
If we want new players to develop a proper understanding of dungeons and apply a little thought rather than mindless button mashing then the established community need to lead by example and stop racing through normal dungeons leaving 3 players in your wake to serve no other function than a witness to your awesomeness!

I had a cp 600-whatever-the-cap-was healer in vet Arx once who was actually pretty good except they weren't using food and had 12k health. That worked alright up til last boss. I actually offered them food in case they were simply out but they declined my trade saying "ty have some in bag"...after which they proceeded to pull the boss at their 12k health. Naturally, they'd consistently get one shot every ~10 seconds of the fight so at some point I gave up, slotted Twilight and we 3 manned it with perma dead healer. The logic of this whole thing escapes me.

Another time I had a dps with 14k health who proudly announced he doesn't believe health is essential for such a great dps that he is, with all bis gold gear and stuff...okay, I said...and then he proceeded to turn to ashes to the very first fire AoE Ash Titan did. Got ressed, died within 5 seconds again. And again. And again. Nope, absolutely didn't need health.
