If we are just speculating, this would seem the most likely to me...SidewalkChalk5 wrote: »So, during one of the recent ESO live streams the words "new weapon line" slipped out of someone's mouth, leading me to believe that a new weapon line will be included in the upcoming Chapter update. Let's speculate on what it might be.
1) One-hand and Rune - the icon for this skill line was found in the game files since launch. Like the Warden, it looks like this was abandoned in early development. Could it be reintroduced in the upcoming Chapter, finally enabling classic spellswords and replacing these strange magicka dual-wielders?
I kinda doubt it... any "weapon" skill lines will more likely be -weapons- rather then support options. I would think "alteration" to make a better guild skill line, really... possibly if they ever expand the mages guild?SidewalkChalk5 wrote: »2) Alteration Staff - Imagine a new support-based backbar for healers, full of group buffs and enemy debuffs. Or perhaps they'll revert the Ice Staff tanking and let Alteration staffs serve as the magicka tanking staff.
Ditto, doesn't seem too likely if they are adding just one skill line, since there are more likely ideas around.SidewalkChalk5 wrote: »3) Unarmed - a classic Elder Scrolls combat style that has gotten no love in ESO. Will it finally happen?
Well... https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/371862/additional-weapon-skill-ideas-mk-iiSidewalkChalk5 wrote: »I don't know. What other ideas are bouncing around out there?
Unarmed would never work with itemization, people already complain about 2handers not counting as 2 set items, can you imagine not getting set bonuses for weapons at all?
Also, with how poorly they've treated hybrids, do you really think 1h/rune has any place?
They made frost staves for tanking specifically because it was too much work to make a whole new weapon skill line. I don't think were likely to ever see more weapon lines added.
