How did a warden hit me for 16k

I play as a hybrid templar cp 160 all points in healing I wear heavy armour at 22k resistance for both and use remembrance ult that gives 16k.more resistance I also use a sheild and sword

✭✭✭✭- 22k resistance is not large enough to make a significant difference against high burst damage
- all of your CP are in healing, meaning you have no damage mitigation coming from CP. Keep in mind that your Warden opponent very likely has a ton of damage increases from his CP. So you're playing on a lopsided field here.
- you only have 160 CP, meaning your opponent has access to many larger CP buffs than you do.

A single, 16k bird? That's fishy.
16k from a well-timed burst combo (inev det, beetles, bird, force pulse, with dots ticking on you and a skoria proc--or some variation on that)? That's pretty normal.
Note: I've hit a 21.5k dark flare on a player, this patch. He was low CP, I was high CP, he wasn't wearing impen and it crit. Splat city, big numbers happen when you are at a statistical disadvantage.Thrice Empress, Forever Scrub0 -

✭✭✭✭If it was in Imperial City maybe he was wearing http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Imperial+Physique+Set. That set gives a big boost to your stats if you're carrying 10K+ TelVar. If he paired that with a damage set the tool tip on his abilities would be quite high, but I doubt any single one would hit for 16K. If he was stamina and managed to land a combo of Subterranean Assault, Dizzying Swing and heavy attack weaved with Reverse Slice in short order that's quite possible. Note that medium armor has 3/4 the resistances of heavy, and the actual mitigation difference between 5 Medium and 5 Heavy is only 6-8% depending on CP allocation and other things. Also mitigation trough resistances is capped at 33K, which is 50% mitigation. If the enemy has 50 CP into piercing he will have 4K penetration and applies major fracture - Subterranean Assault does apply that - will have another 5.3K on top of that. So basically 9.3K of your resistance was gone the moment he hit you with that. That would explain why his subsequent abilities hit so hard. But that's just supposition based on my own play style on Stamina Warden and without a clear description of your death recap I can't say what abilities killed you.Beta tester since February 2014, played ESO-TU October 2015 - August 2022, currently on an extended break

The Real question is:- was it an actual player as a warden that hit for 16K damage.
- was it the Lord Warden from the Imperial city Prison that hit for high damage.
if it was the first option (Very unlikely) then people should be able to answer your question with more accuracy.
if it is the second option, I recommend you see this online guide below to the imperial city prison bosses and enemies as it will provide you and anyone you are talking to a fair bit of insight as to how it works. I know because I did it once and it was "NUTS", the good team I worked with in the dungeon managed to get the lord warden helm (from which I got the Heavy version with infused trait.) and trust me when I say it is one of the most hardest DLC dungeons ever, maybe equally hard to the Horns of the Reach and Shadows of the hist Dungeons.
