    Followers.

Like skyrim, people for hire, or willing to fight with you, etc. A free one in the assistants menu, and ones you can find and get in-game. THEN, one that costs crowns, a custom looks one, you can select their appearance and skills they'll have.

Thanks so much for the suggestion, followers sound like a greater idea, and followers you can customize sound even better!

Whether it happens or not...thanks for the comment.
We see you're listening at least.

Followers were always nice in Skyrim and Fallout. I accidentally killed poor Lydia and was too lazy to restart the whole cave system to save her. A picked up a follower in Markarth who was relatively quiet until we entered dwemer ruins and then would comment about them. It was a nice touch and made the game feel a bit more alive. Boone was a great follower in Fallout when my camera would randomly switch to VATS so I could see some random bandits head get blown off lol. Nice shot Boone.

The companions in swtor are nice as well.

Excellent idea really, i always liked the idea of followers/mercenaries. Maybe maximum 3 followers, but not invincible. Would be cool if they had their own history, traits, likes/dislikes towards certain factions, their own goals (nothing to complicated...).

Make the followers a new skill line and have them be summonable like pets. That will allow all classes to have access to them and streamline their functionality. Make it the first ability in the game to have more than two morphs, to control what kind of follower they are (tank, healer, melee dps, mage dps).

Yes but only if they're like the banker/merchant. They can talk to you but can't fight.

Everquest had mercenaries for hire. Basically just cost you gold for how long you leave it up. If you have the gold basically keep it up infinitely. Could choose a tank, healer and dps mercenaries. They would apply buffs to you and all.

I've seen this suggested a few times around here and the usual response is "your followers are your rl friends or friends you make in eso"

It's quite sad that's the best responses they can come up with instead of supporting the suggestion. Their responses is like saying make your reality / online friends become your slave whenever you come online instead of an a.i. A.I is a program that can perform tasks for you whether your friends are online or not. Friends have a choice if they want to do your task if it fits within their schedule.

Having a follower comes with great benefits to help out your character on your adventures regardless of rthe ole you desire them to be. Some mmorpgs have already incorporated that in and it shows positive results so I'm happy to hear a mod has taken interest within this suggest.
Friend: This one has a cool joke to tell. Want to hear?
    Me: Sure okay.
Friend: What can a frozen band-aid be applied on?
Me: This one don't know. Tell me.
Friend: A cold cut. Get it?? hehehe
    Me:.... *activates Grim Focus!*
Friend: No wait! it's a joke! please!

The idea to me behind would be more like the quest followers you get in certain parts of the game, assist in fighting etc, but I wonder if they should only be visible to you and pretty much for only while you're not grouped. Also, inventory is a good idea, I mean, typically, you'd only buy one of the assistants and the idea was because of getting a full inventory and having to run to the next city to sell or do your banking. I think if they were visible to others you could probably only have one at a time, maybe with or without a combat pet too? I mean, yeah people already have pets following them around, but a lot of people have the banker and/or merchant too. You don't see many people complaining about that. It shouldn't cause too much more lag.
Don't look into someone's eyes, if you fear what they'll see in yours.

So is SWToR and they have an NPC companion system. So your argument falls short.

Yeah, followers would be nice. What's the point of having guildmates, if these *** can't do what I command them to.

I like it. It would be great for a certain segment of the player base, as long as it didn't bleed over into pvp.

    YES

    YES PLEASE

Matriarchs and bears are not enough, I really want EVERYONE to be able to clutter banks, quest givers and crafting stations making it literally impossible to use them.

CAN WE HAVE THAT PLEASE ?

Even in single player games, where this feature is more viable, people grow tired of followers in very short time. Their very limited repertoir of comments etc.

Even Skyrim follower started to become incredibly boring and annoying after a short while, and the only ones people keep are the Mod added ones with a vast number of lines and comments and interactions.

When this is a multi player game with the opportunity to group up with actual people for the group content (trials, dungeons, PvP), as well as it being incredibly easy to do all the solo content (overland, delves, quests), I don't really see the necessity for the devs to focus their time and effort on something like this.

All those Tythis Ardomos are bad enough. But a game with 10 million Lydias running around? No, thanks.
