1 Costume Short of 100: Is It Time We Talk About Organizing Costumes Better?

Thats right, I have 99 costumes. And Im starting to realize that with every new purchase that its becoming increasingly harder to find the costumes I do want to use for particular characters, events and interactions. Its not so much hard to find, as scrolling through so many different costumes is time consuming and even difficult to differentiate between them even with differing names. Especially if Ive forgotten the particular name of the costume.

I think something that might improve the layout, at least on consoles with their UI layout, is if Costumes were broken down into types or styles. Maybe even base it on the culture its coming from. So anything tied to military like the Imperial Guard Centurion and Dominion Scout costumes would fall under Military/Alliance War costumes tab. Breton influenced styles would fall under High Rock Fashion tab. Pirate First Mates could fall under an Outlaw tab with the Black Hand Robe.

This would make it easier to find the costumes you would like to use and clean up a bit of the clutter created by having so many costumes attached to one account.

Thoughts?

That is quite a large costume selection you have!
I have a couple of ideas to add to your topic.

Perhaps a favorites system could be added "per alt" that allows the user to mark costumes with a checkbox. The marked costumes would then be listed first.

Alternatively, perhaps additional search terms could be added to costumes based on your suggestion above ("types or styles"). Then the user could search for costumes based on something other than the name that we cannot remember.

This! So many costumes now, and ones I don't particularly want and will never use because of crown crates. At the very least it would be nice to be able to 'favourite' costumes and have them appear at the top of the list

I would like the ability to mark things as favorites which would put them at the top. This includes not only costumes, but even mounts and pets etc.

Yeah, Ive nearly stopped using costumes etc due to the massive amounts of costumes, hairstyles, and various other features available...

There has to be a way to make it less... Idk, clunky?

Hope Gina does pass this on. There used to be an addon 'Pimp my Ride" that allowed all costumes, hairstyles etc to be placed to a hotkey. That got wiped out with Morrowind.

I actually like this idea more than mine. It would be even more simple and allow for players to keep things where they can find it without flipping through tabs.

I really support this idea!

It would be great to have a section for the Tailored in Tamriel costumes, where the costumes would be organized by race, in each race, by gender, and within each of these, sorted by increasing order of prestige. :-) This would help a lot.

There could also be a section for costumes based on in-game or in-trailer characters, like the three heroes, Naryu, Mannimarco, the Warden, and so on.

It would be great to be able to search for costumes based on their original culture, also based on their "type" (faction-based like the mage guild or the imperial legion stuff, commoner, rich, very rich, crafter, adventurer, sneak-oriented, magic-oriented, combat-oriented, ...)

There could also be a "festivities" section, including the wedding dress, the Nordic bathing towel, and so on...

I wish I could delete or remove some(hide option) that I got from crown crates. Some are super ugly and would never buy myself but got them as a “reward”

It's also currently so difficult to find the one item you want to add to your quickslots from your collections

What I learned today. Post about a game breaking bug on the forums, and you are generally met with silence. Post about a problem that makes people pause about spending more money in the crown store, well, we will pass that feedback onto the team for consideration.

Sorry OP, not trying to take away from your post. I dont have nearly that many costumes, and I find the interface to be a disaster to find what I want.

If you are on PC and you want to randomize your costumes you should try PimpMyRide ( http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1140-PimpmyRide-CollectibleRandomizera....html ).
It will pick your costume at random ( which you can select which ones to choose ), and when to pick them ( at start of game or when you change zones ).
