Why do PVP videos...

... always have that god awful durty bassline or dubstep crap playing over the top, instead of the game audio? I mean I could tolerate it if it was tasteful music at least, but it seems like most of the good PVP players seem to listen exclusively to the absolute worst EDM has had to offer us in the last decade.
You think thats bad. 15 years ago EVERY PvPVideo out there had either Linkin Park, Disturbed or Evanescence as backgroundmusic. And not the good songs, the bad commercialized songs, like Crawling, or down with the sickness.
    It was horrible.....

Get some taste guys. But on a more serious level, there are a lot of audio cues in this game that you miss out on when it's obscured by phat beats, and it would be good to hear them when you're trying to learn. Even better would be commentated footage, which seems to be the norm for every other game out there- While here we are watching kill compilations with crappy trance music like it's 2005.

So is there an actual reason behind this?

@Vermintide I would suggest watching some of Kodi's video, whilst he may also use music not to your country western taste, he does give some good guides to PVP

Because most of the people that make these PvP videos are a bunch of dude-bros. So no surprise they have poor musical taste

You can really tell who has garbage taste by listening to the kind of music they like. If it's ever dubstep, rap, or screamo/metal/hard rock, you do yourself no favors by hanging around someone of such poor taste.

Speak for yourself. Some of the friendliest and most intelligent people I've ever known were metalheads.

Honestly judging someone based on their musical preference is far more telling of someone having "garbage taste" - or at least of having a closed and judgemental mind.

You see, the thing is: There is good and bad of every type of music.

In the OP, I lamented that streamers/video makers use bad EDM. That does not mean I dislike EDM, I am in fact very partial to some nice deep house, or a chilled out melodic techno mix.

Same goes for metal. Metal is utterly horrible, if you think "metal" consists solely of Disturbed, Slipknot etc. If you've never heard something like Coroner you could be forgiven for thinking it's a pretty braindead genre.

Rap is also excellent if you know where to look. Granted it has a very high ratio of crap to gold, as a genre, but you can't tell me The Chronic isn't a masterpiece of 20th century art.

The problem is that most of the music used in these videos is so jarringly inappropriate, and lacking in subtlety.

My first PvP vid. Ppl told me that I needed a music video.

Commenting on my video sounds like a drag.... I rather just answer questions.

Well, you're one of the main offenders dude. Your footage is great, but you need a music consultant maybe. Here, let me help- I have the perfect piece for your next video!

in case it hasn't been said yet. the reason music is awful is becasue its the only music you can use royalty and attribution free. everyone uses virtually the same sets of songs, becasue that's what twitch/youtube etc let you use without you losing your audio completely to copyright claims.

Yeah, that seems a good reason for it.
