IMO there should be account achievements and there should be character achievements.
Most, if not all of the achievements in the game currently are character specific and should stay that way.
I guess i need to be clear, this is how i would like it to work.
While you can see what you have already done on other characters, you would still need to complete them on others as well. But anything you do achieve on one character, the rewards should be available to all characters.
Eh. Titles should remain character specific.
I understand your position but doing that punishes people that want to start new characters, it gets quite discouraging to sink so many hours in to one character for a specific title, and if i get bored with that character and want to play a new one, i'd have to sink that many hours again.
That would cause burn out like crazy.
What if you dont have Alts, but more than one Main?Just ignore the achievements on the alts. The dyes, furniture, and CP are account-wide. All you won’t have is the titles.
I play the alts for different playstyles, not for completionism. My main does the hard work. The alts just freeload.
What if without the Achievements your brain starts to itch.

No. It's just the opposite.
People who start new characters want to start the game FRESH, with an empty map, no achievements and a sense of discovery.Having account-wide achievements would discourage many people from creating alts because there would be no feeling nor measurement of progression.
On the other hand, people who just want to try a new class just need to grind to 50, gather 150ish skill points and here they are. It's quick nowadays. Achievements are useless when it comes to character efficiency.
This isn't an absolute fact, it's a preference.
I'd love having all my achivements unlocked when I start a new chatacter. To not have to find every wayshrine all over again. To not have to collect all those skyshards again and to not have to feed my horse for 180 days. But that's just me. Some like to do things from the scratch, and one way of wanting to play the game isn't better than the other.
The best solution for this would be to have it optional. That way those who want can go and explore all over again, without forcing those who don't want to.

I like to play multiple toons, the one thing that gets me most is having to do all of my achievements over again, or having the progress of one not carry over to another character. Do you think it will ever be implemented?
Am i the only one that thinks this is a good quality of life change or not?
You don't *have* to do all achievements all over again. Achievements get you nothing apart from titles.
Else you get dyes (account wide), right to buy furniture (which you can transfer or use on whatever character), and skins (account wide).
There's strictly no point in doing all achievements on all characters - unless you suffer from OCD.
How does wanting to have achivments account wide not make sense? From what I've seen the two different takes on this is usually "my character did it" for people who don't want account wide stuff and "I did it" for people who do. Both things make sense, and saying that one doesn't don't really make any sense.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »

The OP was strictly referring to achievements (not wayshrines, skyshards, lorebooks, skillpoints, motifs, horse training, etc.. ).
For achievements, the "option" is already there : JUST IGNORE THEM and don't do them. Problem solved.
The rest is a whole different story, with different aspects on each point. Horse training, for instance, will never be account-wide, because ZOS will want to sell crown store lessons.
The rest... without considering all the details, I doubt ZOS will ever make those account wide, even optionally, because after all, they want us to spend time ingame. What leads players to stay in the game, buy crown store stuff and DLCs are the social interactions in the game, therefore they need to to actually play the game. ZOS will balance every decision of this kind in terms of hours played vs. boredom. And God knows we MMO players are extremely resistant to boredom. And we complain about chores ingame but maybe we would quit quicker without those chores.

Considering the title, I was half expecting this to be about Necromancers...

I mean there is nothing stopping a new toon from doing anything just because the achievement is already there. Its not like you are doing it for the first time if you have earned it on another toon. He is an idea, you can roleplay that you don't have said achievements.
Titles would be the primary problem with accountwide achievements. If that can be decoupled from achievements it could make the idea work.
Where are the account wide achievements.

Still doesn't explain why you demand something useless to be made available on all your characters. You just make no sense.2) If achievements are so meaningless, why fight for them not to be account wide.
MMORPG... that's what ESO is... RPG stand for Role Playing Game, right ? That means, we have the opportunity to make different characters with different backgrounds. Not everything is combat related. Many of us want to have one character that is "bad", another one that is "good", another one that respects the law, another one kills and steals, another one that doesn't, one who likes daedras and one that loathes them... etc...
I don't want my lawful character to actually *be* a silencer, nor to be able to wear that title. He's not accountable for what my other characters have done.
See the point ?
Alt characters are NOT meant to be copies of my main with a different skin and abilities.Account wide achievements must come.
No. They musn't.
