Altmer need some love

Maining a high elf character I couldn't help but notice that altmer-related stuff in the game is woefully lacking. I mean, every race has some cultural identity when it comes to clothing, mounts, pets and other thematic things, almost all of them already have 1-2 DLCs that expand the race's lore even further. As for altmer, well, even reachmen savages got more attention than one of the most prominent races of Tamriel. Is ZOS ever going to acknowledge their existence for once?

Well this is good news. Haven't started CWC yet but at least there is some silver lining. Is there something solid known about it so far or just speculations?

Speculations, but with some evidence to back it up. Clockwork City was introduced in the Morrowind expansion, then we later got Clockwork as its own DLC. Summerset Isles is mentioned at the end of the CC quest-line as being a place where some sort of battle/action will be taking place soon, so people are speculating that Summerset will be coming to us as a DLC.

Don't forget the prequel quest ('Of Knives and Long Shadows') has us interact with a Psijic, and there's a small novel of text in the...inn, I think...of the Brass Fortress that gives lots of detail on Artaeum, and is addressed to the 'Proxy Queen.'

    ...How?

-Gave us gray Rivendell buildings as opposed to going with the more interesting lore for our cities and environments
-did virtually nothing to distinguish our society from humans outside of a few unexplained titles like canonreeve and battlereeve.
-Sucked out all the magic from our culture, almost forgetting we’re supposed to be the most magically advanced race on the planet
-put ugly stitches in our clothing for literally no reason
-made us afraid of summoning daedra despite us, again, supposedly being the masters of conjuration as well all forms of magic
-Gave us a Mary Sue generic leader they shove in our face to keep us happy, as opposed to the badass, mystical Galadriel-esque leader we deserve. Seriously Ayrenn is almost identical to a blood elf rp character I made in WoW when I was 12.

No one is saying there aren't multiple interpretations of the lore, and we're not arguing that ESO did it "wrong".

We're arguing that they decided to go for the most boring, mundane, seen-before interpretation possible. Like they almost always do, unless they can ride on the coat-tails of past games.

I agree with everything bar Queen Ayrenn who I think they did a great job of. What bugs me is they have made ever altmer, except Ayrenn, so unlikeable. It’s a legacy of the Thalmor being baddies in Skyrim, but it’s cheap and lazy from a lore and gameplay perspective. I can’t wait for a Summerset chapter to rectify it!

It seems to have calmed down a bit as of late, but at one point the mass amount of people playing as high elves actually started making some people get tired of seeing them. And don't even get me started on how many female highelves wearing nord towels there were. It was insanity.

Can I say that personally, I found the High Elves far more personable overall than the Dunmer ever have been? I mean yes, they are haughty and proud, but many storylines revolve around Altmer trying to do good things and screwing it up, or just trying to screw each-other out of their inheritance. Lorewise the first dominion has done a lot of good in the world (most notably, halting the advance of a plague in Elsewyre) and generally do deserve some praise.

Bosmer all just jump off of Elden Root though. They reached ascended meme status by the end of Malabal Tor.

Wouldn't surprise me that if the two DLC's after the chapter are zone base, one will be the upcoming Mephala's realm and the other a link in with the chapter, like we have Vvardenfell and CWC last year....maybe the other island of summerset Artaeum.:)

The AD's main goal is to have elven rule restored to tamriel and to establish policies that would essentially leave the other races as 2nd class citizens. Kinda hard to not make them assholic/elitist.
