i also think having more options on the upper end would be more informative. like, it seems there's very little difference between having 5k and having 10k (that's just somebody who forgot to do writs that day) but having separate notches at 5M, 50M and 200M would be eye-opening.

Just under 2 mil as I went shopping. And bought some houses as I thought why not. I think tomorrow or next day if I'm lazy it will be back to 2 mil.
I have all motifs but newest 2 dungeons missing a couple of militant ordinator. I have over 980 furniture recipes - got most the non morrowind non cwc purples missing about 4 im aware off and a few more I'm not most likely aware off. I
have At least 150 to 200 pile of gold tempers/resin/wax and flowers in the 1000s per stack in craft bag. I have about 1800 writ vouchers too, i spent all my tel var and am not that interested in making more. I only about a 800000 ap due to buying camps and militant ordinator as well as a current disinterest. ( sometimes I like pve more sometimes pvp just depends)
Not the richest but I am very comfortable. It's taken a while though

I farm a lot of raw mats, especially max level materials and reagents. However, the best way to get rich and keep it is to not spend money on gold sinks like motifs and houses. I'd probably have two or three the gold I have now if I didn't keep spending money on motifs and houses.

I havn't spent a single penny on motifs or houses. The only thing I ever spend on is gear for trying new builds and tempers to make weapons gold.

Somehow I've never had more than 200k across the whole account, and for the last 6 months (since levelling up and gearing a couple of new characters) haven't had more than 50k.
Last patch i couldn't experiment with new builds - next patch won't be able to either.. Which is a bit of a shame since its about the only thing I like in game anymore - apart from Pvping.

That's what stops me. If I was gonna do 3 years of hard work, I'd much rather do it in the real world and have real money to show for it, and while in a game, during me free-time? I'd rather be playing than working.

But that's just me - I know I'm in the minority with MMO's.

7 million or so, plus decent amounts of stashed mats. Notes on that include:

• Consumable crafting writs are an easy 2K/day on a Level 50 character, PROVIDED that you have something to do during loading screens. Hard crafts are more hassle, however.
• Hirelings are a super-easy source of mats. Up to you what your mix is in hoarding the mats against need or selling them for gold.
• I've spent a lot to get a lot of the pre-Morrowind recipes. A few of them provide a bit of income from trading guilds. (Maybe a net after material value of 100K/week across three guilds with strong locations on PC/NA.)
• At other times I've found other things to craft and/or sell as a source of income.
• I have a character who knows 35-40 motifs. Mainly, that's the cheaper ones.
• Total cash spent buying houses and luxury furniture combined is probably 2 million or so.
• I'm conservative on gear -- no gold jewelry, low dozens of gold weapons, almost no gold armor.

I feel as if this thread explains why changing the color of gear via the Outfit system is so costly.

I don't care about money in a game.

I spend it frivolously whenever I can.

I buy any old cr@p just to see what it does, what it looks like, and whether I like it.

Same goes for crafting. I don't bat an eye deconstructing Legendary gear because I can.

In another game I accumulated so much.. I had 750 million in energy credits and my own Starbase with every single ship/gear the game had to offer.

I was miserable.
