I was looking forward to the game from the moment it was announced.
As expected from a game from ZeniMax/Bethesda, it was a bugfest.

There were hundreds of these at launch.

Long goneeee, Been around since Launch man....The game is dead for most concerns...no where near how populated or seemed like anyone wanted to play the damn thing now.

Judging by how when I starting pvping in vivec this cycle with a few days and was ranked >15000 overall. I'd say that it's not lost as many players as thought. This is PC/NA.

The reson it seems less populated is because PVE is more spread-out with the several DLC zones and old zones scaled.
There is no reason for the entirety of the PVE population to hang out in Craglorn anymore.

same feel i had when i played gw2 in and after beta/launch....lackluster and boring....i only really started wnjoying both games when i returned to gw2 when heart of thorns dropped and to eso spring of last year....i think mmos are better if you wait till a year after release...

I had recently played skyrim for the first time, an year before ESO released. When I heard it was coming out I couldn't be more excited.
I never played a subscription based game before and I was willing to do it for ESO.
Loved the game, although it wasn't what I expected. I really thought it would be like playing skyrim online.
No worries. I still love it and will keep playing it.

I remember playing the beta and enjoying it. I decided to wait on buying it and purchased it around when Craglorn came out. I only got to level 30 on my Templar though because I didn't like the veteran level system. I like having a few alts to change up my playstyle every once in a while so the idea of going through all the zones on each character to get them maxed was just too daunting. Once I created my first alt (a nightblade) and got bored in Stonefalls I decided I wasn't willing to make the time investment.

I only recently returned (played on PS4 a bit last year) to pc with CWC. I'm 205 cp now and have a level 50 Templar and Sorc and I'm playing around with NB and DK as well. My most excited was going through CWC and Wrothgar on my Templar last month. I'll be hitting Morrowind with my NB and EP zones with my DK after I finish DC zones on my Sorc so that might bring the spark back.

I was eagerly excited and happy,i started way back in beta and i'm still very happy we have an elder scrolls mmo game, and thats why i got the boxed imperial collectors edition back then :):D

    ...are Bretons then mongrels,or paragons?
    The answer,of course,is both(though if you call a Breton
a mongrel,he is liable to feed you an inch or two of steel).
The passionate race of Bretons embodies the strengths
of both men and mer-as well as there flaws.

    -The Bretons: mongrels or paragons?

Beta and pre-order here and still love the game. I don't love the balance in the game. It sucks badly and whomever is doing the balance really doesn't know what he is doing (yes, I know who it is). It happens to every game. They nerf for pvp and to hell with pve players even though the majority are pve and not pvp players.

I also hate having to do cadwells but if I don't, I won't be able to compete with everyone else who has mega CP. My Bosmer doesn't belong in Skyrim when she is Dominion all the way. I can see my Imperial going wherever she wants but not my Bosmer. And to be the souless one over and over again. How the hell did I get my soul back then lose it again, 2x. Honestly, I would have rather they did what every other MMO does. Make end game content (the DLC) and level up with that instead of forcing us to go to different factions to compete. I didn't like it day one and I don't like it now.

Otherwise, I really like the game.

Started the game in the free trial phase in december 2016, didnt even made it out of coldharbour. Dont know why but at that point i didnt liked it at all. Gave it another try in april 2017 when another free trial came on and i got hooked. Played almost everyday since then and if i think about its the only game that got my attention for such along time. There are other games that i played a lot but they usually end up in my shelf after 4-6 weeks.

Nothing special Terribly optimized, clunky combat, waste of money.

Furtunately they fixed most of those issues.

I was thrilled E$O will be everything I wanted 4 years ago when I started...Disappointment shortly followed.

Yet four years on here you are complaining instead of playing a game you aren't disappointed in.

    interesting.

I played during beta and remember not being overly impressed. :D I recall it was REALLY difficult to distinguish NPCs from player characters standing around (were name plates not a thing back then? I honestly can't remember). The minimalist UI was really unappealing to me as well, as I was used to overly cluttered MMORPG UIs at the time. I also could not figure out how to leave Betnikh, for some reason. Fun times.

I returned to ESO in April 2016 (on PC) when I ended my masochistic eight year relationship with Lord of the Rings Online, finally figured out how to leave Betnikh (LOL), and haven't looked back. Switched over to console when my potato laptop couldn't handle One Tamriel. I really enjoyed those initial weeks and months of falling in love with the landscape, and the soundtrack, and learning how to play the game.
