Console Players: How do YOU find Lorebooks/Skyshards?

So I have seen a number of players on console ragging on PC for add-ons, most notably brought up are the lorebook and skyshard add-ons. So that made me wonder.. do you look up the locations on the internet to find them? Or do you just run around hoping you come across them?

    Not a console player, but:

During beta, i started "The Tamriel Mapping Project" which initially was on paper (gasp!) and eventually turned into an AddOn.
I printed out maps and marked important locations like treasure chests, skyshards, quests, nodes etc.

I know, i know, it's a bit old school, using a pen and paper to mark locations, but it did work out surprisingly well.

Skyshards and lorebooks are a throw back to the old days of single player RPGs and the setting out in no particular direction and stumbling across random things in world style of exploration - though IMO they fail to achieve a similar purpose in ESO as they are directly tied to player power - and very few are going to spend the time hoping they stumble across them in their travels if it means their character is weaker and will instead simply use an add-on, use an app, or look them up online.

Now as a giant time sink for players versus more content, they are a great thing for ZOS.

I do both. When starting a new character and I have already done the exploring of that part of the land, and I forget where the shards are, I will look them up on the internet. If I haven't explored the area yet, I will find them when I stumble apon them.

Will have to check out this ESO App. Thanks for mentioning that. Is it on the Google Play store?
Not my quote but I love this saying

"I would pay It for support. But since they choosed we are just numbers and not customers, i dont mind if game and zos goes to oblivion"

When I first started I ran around got to vet 14 and then went back. I had got most and to mages guild 8 and a 1/2 just playing aimlessly.
I use apps on my I pad mainly which I bought early on as I play the game enough. I have 3 I use . Eso Workbench, the eso app, and eso db. Depending on what I'm doing depends on which. The ESO I like best for skyshards/lorebooks.
Edit. If someone made a motif and furniture app I'd be happy.

On PC, but never used any of those darn add-ons.
I have way too much fun trying to figure those things out on my own!

Skyshards are a breeze, the crypric hints in the journal -really- help tracking them down.

Lorebooks are best done during game-nights, when you can see the blue glow from afar... all it takes is enjoying wandering off the beaten tracks, checking out places the story does not take you to, etc.; and you'll stumble over loads of them.

    ...

You young whioppersnappers don't know how good you have it these days, with in-game maps and all that! Why in the olde days, we had to draw all our maps by hand, on actual paper, and check out every nook and cranny for that hypothedical treasure chest containing some nifty magic item (and occasionally fight a mimic!). Then fight our moms over it when they wanted to throw away our hard earned intel as "trash"... ah, the good old days, they don't make adventure gamers like they used to, why, todays gamers would be lost without their fancy maps and apps, now, gerroff mah lawn! :p;)

I use ESO toolkit on Google play store, it has tons of crafting and utilities that you can use. I recommend you try it if you're looking for an app that has lots of information from the game (recipes, furnishings, crafting)

It does not have Skyshards and lorebooks though.

Hunting lorebooks on console is just the dirt worst. I hate it so much. Shards are boring too but not nearly as bad.

At this point lore books and sky shards should be account wide or show on the map permanently after you find it once on that account. At the very least you should be able to purchase an in-game map that shows their locations on the map for each area (yes, another gold sink).

They can be fun to search for on your first character but after that they are just tedious. These and Undaunted are the worst parts of leveling an alt.
