    For Pact it's Stonefalls
    For Covenant it's Bangkorai
I haven't played through every Dominion zone yet to have a full opinion.

Overall though I'd have to say Vvardenfell.

Thinking about it I can't give one specifically or even be consistent.

Which I like today depends on mood and such but for different reasons my front-runners would be craglorn, cyrodiil and rivenspire though probably not in that order, at least not today.

I tried turning it around and there isn't a zone I dislike either which I think is a nice testament to the zone designers.

Vvardenfell. Some of the most fun I’ve had was running through the Vivec questline. Other than that I love the cold harbour portion of the main quest.

I personally prefer warm, beautiful and quiet lands, therefore

    1) Auridon
Besides of the beautiful landscape I especially like a part of the music there. It reminds me on a ship sailing off to an archipelago far away ... Khenarthi's Roost has a similar flair.

    2) Malabal Tor
I like in particular the dense vegetation there, which make me feel like entering a deep forest.

    3) Greenshade
I love the remoteness and natural beauty of the zone. It reminds me a little on Nagrand.

Personally I find many of the vanilla zones very bland and uninspring in comparison to the DLC zones.
I definitely think that they could use some visual updates

Ha Nagrand. It was all fun and games until the battle for the center area was on. Back when WoW was sort of fun.

Auridon. Maybe because I started there, but also because of all the elves and the landscape and everything.

Auridon is purdy. Very colorful. I enjoy most of the AD zones. They seem like places I'd enjoy taking large doses of psychedelics and wandering through the woods.

Glenumbra, hands down. Where my journey began when I first started playing thus game and telling all my friends to check out the graphics on this new MMO before taking time off for Cancer, but I luckily hit it with a crit and have been free since November 4th 2017 and came back creating a brand new toon to see and do it all again.

What is your favorite zone and why?

I personally favor Rivenspire the most. I like the darker atmosphere and I love how the crafting stations and bank are close together in Shornhelm.

RIVENSPIRE! It's the perfect place for a Fighter's Guild Templar. :)

Though I still have a soft spot for Summerset simply because it's where I started with my Altmer. So it's "home". But Rivenspire is my workplace.

    This is really hard.

Bleakrock reminds me of my first times in Beta, and will always be a special place for me.

Auridon was my first AD zone I saw in Beta, and I immediately fell in love with it.

Khenarthi's roost is another place that I'm sentimental about.

    The Rift and Eastmarch too.

Orsinium is amazing. So is Summerset.

So I have a thing for either ridiculously pretty places on the water or places with winter environments/trees with fall colors. And I'm sure several were influenced by the music playing in the zone as well.

    Auridon.

Beautiful, peaceful, good music. Just as pretty (or more) than Summerset but without the excessive impassible cliffs and excessive (irritating) hostile encounters every ten steps. Whenever I toy with dumping ESO (usually do the lastest nerfpatch), my elf goes to Auridon and rides her precious mare (at a walk) around, basking in the ambiance.

Rivenspire's story is excellent (do the main questline at night for extra effect) and I called Shornhelm home before Vivec City became the most convenient place to craft. Sadly the Telvanni fleshrooms look infinitely worse than in TES III (and they have stone support structures??) so I can't in good conscience say Vvardenfell. Wrothgar is great, and aside from Kvatch being murder city, the Gold Coast hits all the right Elder Scrolls notes.

I'll also shout out to Glenumbra for its storyline, Alik'r for the dolmen-run, and Summerset for... everything. I know what I said about your architecture, Summerset, and I take it back baby.

Unfortunately with the original game zones, living in the region just isn't feasible in the same way it is with DLC zones and other TES titles. The towns are never fully cleared of their monster problem, so you can't exactly take the road from Daggerfall to Camlorn the way you could from Solitude to Markarth, say. In Skyrim you may run into bandits or another bear, in the ESO vanilla zones you're ride through a village you saved from imps 2 irl years ago, and the imps are still bloody there! The DLC zones don't have this problem, and riding from Anvil to Kvatch feels just like it did in Oblivion. Good stuff.
    Gwynauldynn. Crafter. Merchant. Guildmaster. Adventurer.
Uthastyan. Corporal of the Lion Guard, abroad for the glory of the Covenant.
    Dra'arah. This one picks pockets.
Sleeps-With-The-Fishies. You want a soul gem filled? Pheh. My pleasure.
Vanyonah Telvanni. Born an ashlander. Destined for greatness.

For story, characters and quests, it's Rivenspire by a considerable margin.

For visual beauty it's Summerset, which is also one of the better questing areas.

For convenience it's Vivec City, over Rawl'kha, Mournhold and Shornhelm.

I actually can't pick one. I love them all. I love the EP zones less.... because I'm not into barren volcanism, or icky swamps (except for Morthal.... and while I really don't want to revisit Skyrim any time soon - the two zones we have are MORE than enough thanks - I would actually be very happy for Morthal to show up very soon....)
