✭I could see ZOS taking advantage of this by charging for apps. In the end they would probably make UI feature that are only available by buying it from them.
In reality its time ZOS made a more complete UI that didn't need all these add-ons.

✭ZOS make addons already. The latest awesome addon from ZOS is called "Outfits" or something like that, IIRC.
That's the only addon distribution I want them to do is not addons actually, I want them to do built-in features.

They have incorporated some add-ons I've used, well enough I've deleted those add-ons as superfluous. But no, I would not want them to monetize game functionality. I just want them to adapt the most popular and useful ideas, like Advanced Filters. I just introduced a friend to add-ons and she asked after a couple of hours using just the basic inventory/crafting ones I'd recommended, "how did I play this game for a year and a half without these?" 1
