Where'd you find a zone chat for 10 minutes without a guild ad??

I think all the recruiters were so engrossed in the enlightening and thought-provoking conversation.

Some of the guild adds are the funniest thing in ESO.

One guild was advertising something like: 'Looking for high energy, exciting people to join us for raids, PvP and other highly competitive... Oh, who am I kidding, most of us smoke a bowl before we start playing, nothing gets done and we forget our own events. But we have a guild trader and casual atmosphere!'
Name of guild? Want to join.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Worst part about this was when one of them said "Enjoy your ban"—cannot stand people like that.

Meh. The other day someone in the Vvordenvell (spelling?) zone chat was making...interesting statements about "black people". Their hygiene in particular.

Until and unless ZOS begins policing this sort of thing, it will just continue to happen. Perceived anonymity and a lack of tangible consequences equals pronounced and prolonged idiocy. Welcome to the Internet.

[How to police it? Well, some games have admins either actively monitoring chat channels or at least the associated text parsers. Others have "report" buttons to instantly report someone for a range of proscribed behaviours, which is basically a way to tell the admins to take a look at the logs. In theory, one could even combine the two approaches...]

You can report them by right-clicking on their name and using the "Report Player" option. If I have to use that, I prefer to screenshot the conversation and when ZOS sends we the usual "Thanks for letting us know" email, I'll attach the screenshots.

You'll probably never find out the results since ZOS doesn't share discipline info, but if you have to report someone, that's how I prefer to do it.

Everything that's wrong with people demonstrated in a single 10-minute conversation

I fixed the thread title for you.

ZoS has specifically said on multiple occasions that they investigate based on report volume (I assume of reports from different players). At first blush, addressing players that generate the most reports is not a bad method. Go after the players that annoy the most people.

Except that, if the majority of people in zone chat are, for example, die hard racists, there will be a low volume of reports and you actually end up promoting racism by driving non-rascists from the game. One would hope that they have key word flags for

The funniest thing about this is that OP painstakingly wrote it all down.

Somewhere out there is another post saying "this guy actually took time out of his day to write down the ENTIRE chat, and I was just bored and trolling everyone and he provides a link to this thread.

btw, how long did it take you to make this post? I mean, the formatting and the fact it's word for word... :D

But yeah, zone chat in most MMOs makes me want to close the chat window real fast. (Ugh, Earth Spacedock Chat in Star Trek Online :s )

I thought zone chat was specifically for LFG or trolling..... oops?

But Vuhkel's Guard is very strong on the :
    1) [insert random word]
    2) [being pointless argument on subject of word chosen in step 1]
    3) [transform pointless argument into A ) Religious B ) Political C )Banana; debate]

I'm sure its somewhat generalized throughout zones.

And for what it's worth, having no clue who is who in the chat excerpt above, I think Romeo is a Hypocrite. :P
